Elly could make the Decepticons feel bad about themselves with some sick burns, but that wouldn't be particularly productive.
"You mean there's more to human media than Top Gear?" Kate probably didn't need to know that Elly watches that. "Hah hah, just kidding, there's C-SPAN, too. I mean... yes, sir, I can do that. Put the television on the actual news. Get the lap top out to scour the news blogs and conspiracy websites. Clip newspaper articles. Peruse magazines."
Elly has the feeling this is a busy-work job to keep her out of trouble, given that she is not a data analyst or a hacker, but even if this is Kate's equivalent of having Elly paint the beach rocks, she is going to take it seriously. Elly is going to pay attention to human media so hard. That'll show Kate... something. Elly is unclear what. Spite is a powerful motivator, but it doesn't lead to the most rational choices.
She'll just have to TiVo Top Gear. They're supposed to have a Lamborghini Reventón racing an Ankonian on next episode.

"Good job." Kate dips her head in a nod, then tucks her tablet into a back pocket. She looks over at Elly. "Need a ride home, lass? It's no sports car, but it beats the bus."

Being called 'lass' by Kate is sort of weird. Elly supposes that she's been running a female BIOS for a few months, but hearing it from Kate has the unfortunate ring of finality to it.
She packs up her bag and says, "If... if you don't mind. I'd really appreciate it." Elly's still going to shower afterwards, no offense. "That's... nice of you."

Kate nods. "All right, then." She pushes herself away from the desk and starts to head towards the door, than looks back at Elly and eyes her case. "Need help with that?"

Elly looks at her roller bag self-consciously. She shouldn't let Kate see her weakness. She should be strong. Elly has only finite resources, though, she has to admit, and they run out far more quickly than she would like.
Would taking a little more of Kate's help really be so bad? Kate wouldn't offer if she didn't really mean it, would she?
A bit abashed, Elly admits, "If you don't mind," and she offers Kate the handle on her roller bag.
OOC: The End.
