Rodney manages to recover from his laughing fit. He coughs a few times to clear his throat, and then drinks from his straw as Addison airs his complaints. He smirks faintly around the straw as the actor complains about him wanting to embarrass Addison. That may not be the primary motivation, but truth be told, it factored into the method of the test. However as Kate explains that he thinks Addison is better looking as a human, Rodney smiles hard and hunches his shoulders, looking a bit embarrassed himself.
"Erm, I'm... sorry, Addison," he says sheepishly, "but she's right about that. Which wouldn't be so weird if I had a set of double memories, like you or Lynn, but... I'm really still Rodimus. My... I mean, not for food, because that's completely different as a human, anyway, but most of my tastes are still... Autobot tastes. Except you," he admits.

"I am not going to let myself be drawn into a drinking game with you, Kup."
Addison then takes a very long drink from his beer, not in an attempt to be contrary, but to distract him from the implications of what both Kate and Rodney are saying. He sets the bottle down and stares at it for a few moments, not looking at either of them.
"I see."

"Clever boy," Kate says admiringly when Addison declares he's not going to get into a drinking game.
Anyway, if Rodney is embarrassed, he deserves to be embarrassed. Kate feels pretty awkward, herself, to be honest.

Rodney's looks over at Addison, concerned, and reaches a hand for his shoulder. "Addison?" he asks, concerned about the withdrawal. He's not really in a position to understand why this discovery might bother the other as much as it does.
It's all fun and games until someone ends up questioning the validity of every good thing that's ever happened in one's life.
(Of course, given that the life in question is a set of false memories implanted by a mysterious force, it's not necessarily wrong to question the validity of any part of it.)

Addison allows the hand to land on his shoulder, though there is a moment where he obviously tenses under that hand. He does not shrug off the touch, but he also doesn't seem comfortable under it either, which is very, very odd for Addison. And for Mirage, for that matter.
"It will be fine," he finally says stiffly, " You wouldn't understand, anyway, because you don't have a set of human memories, or human sensibilities taking the forefront in your mind."
"I apologize for unwittingly manipulating your desires. However, I am unsure how to stop it or if doing so is even possible. So I am not entirely sure how to proceed from this point."

Kate wonders if the car boys are seriously going to get into an angst-off. She facepalms and suggests, "You could start with not blaming yourself. So you're really, really handsome. Just 'cos I want to take you home doesn't mean I will. I'm still my own driver."

Rodney frowns. It's always difficult to keep from getting defensive when you're being told 'You wouldn't understand,' even when it might be true. "Well... Kate's got human memories," he points out, trying to suggest that there might be someone here who understands, at least.
"As what to do next..." he trails off and shrugs. "I guess keep doing what we've been doing, and I just know to... keep that in mind, I guess." Thus far, Rodney's relationship with Addison has, for the most part, been for show, more a public thing than a private one. For better or for worse, this revelation is likely to ensure it stays that way.

Addison finally looks up, though at Kate, not at Rodney.
"Would you please. For the love of God. Shut. Up."
He pulls out his wallet and drops what is probably entirely too much money for whatever Rodney and Kate might order on the table. Addison pushes his chair back and stands.
"I'm sorry. I find I no longer have an appetite, and this entire encounter is garnering more attention than I would prefer from the press." Indeed, the tabloids tomorrow will be speculating wildly about what could have caused the happy couple to have such a public disagreement. Addison Payne never has public disagreements with his partners. "I think I will walk back to my hotel. My driver can take you wherever you wish when you are done."
He has not looked at Rodney during this entire exchange.
Unless something happens to stop him, Addison his going to be out of the cafe in short order.

Normally, telling Kate to 'shut up' might well be fighting words, but being under the influence of a fae glamour is not normal for her. She stares at Addison for a moment and then grunts, "You don't have a brain in that pretty little head of yours, do you?"
She does not chase after him. Kate's really not that close to him. She isn't going to take his money, though. Kate can settle her bill on her own.

Rodney frowns as Addison orders Kate to 'shut up.' As fond as he is of Addison, and as attractive as Addison may be, that's still Kup that he was telling to shut up, and, when it comes right down to it, on a personal level, Kup means more to him than Mirage. In combat, he would strive to keep that personal bias out of his judgements, and if he had the option, he'd lay down his life for any of his Autobots (but of course, he doesn't have that option), but this isn't combat. The situation is, by its very nature, personal.
On the other hand, the stunt they pulled is pretty jerkish, and Rodney knows this. Sure, he can't really comprehend just why Addison is this upset about it. After all, he was the one whose attractions were manipulated, and he's not mad! But still, springing this on Addison like this was a dirty trick.
As the other man runs out, he looks embarrassed. He looks towards Kate. "I'm... I'm really sorry I dragged you into the middle of all this, but... I should probably go after him." And while he's starting to stand, it seems as though he wants to make sure Kate understands why he wants to follow.

OOC: Skipping Addison by request.
"Yeah, yeah, go after him," Kate grunts, "Just tell me what you learned from all this."
With Addison gone, she mostly just feels embarrassed and increasingly annoyed.

Before he runs off, Rodney attempts to reach down and squeeze one of Kate's hands in 'thanks.' "That I should probably come up with better ways to test things," he says. And he probably won't, anyway. "Thanks, Kate."
And then he goes running off after the other man, leaving the little Danny toy sitting on the table.

Kate tries to clap a hand on Rodney's shoulder before he goes, in response to the hand squeeze.
While he's running off, she's going to settle her bill. She leaves Addison's money on the table, untouched. Someone is getting an amazing tip today, it would seem.
Then Kate takes the Danny toy. Rodney's going to find it waiting for him in his underwear drawer.

By the time Rodney is heading after Addison, the model is crossing over to the next block. By rights, Addison should be worried about walking back to his hotel. For one, it is a good distance away. For another, the filming is happening in a sketchy part of town, and Addison is just the type that the bad element would target.
Except he isn't worried, because he's always gone wherever he pleased without issue. That thought occurs to him, and unbidden he wonders if that is because of this... special ability Rodney and Kate claim he has. He scowls and shoves his hands in his pockets. It's a bit chilly tonight.
When Rodney catches up, Addison cuts his eyes toward the other man. He doesn't speak immediately, continuing to walk in silence.
Eventually he does say, "You realize coming after me like this after an apparent argument is just going to drop us back on the cover of Star?"

Rodney flashes Kate another quick smile as the hand is clapped on his shoulder, and then he's gone.
Once he catches up, Rodney's jog slows to a walk as he matches pace with Addison. At Addison's comment, he shrugs. "Yeah, but so would me not coming after you after an apparent argument, so I might as well do what I want to instead of letting some tabloid reporter make my decisions for me."
