Month 7, Week 3, Day 4. Open.
Victoria sorts through the paperwork in her lap. Rook really was quite competent. Untrustworthy, of course, but that goes with the faction. It says something about how much being human has affected her that Victoria laments the lack of trustworthy associates.
Getting the proper permits to use Lyzack as a personal transport was slightly tricky, but manageable. Officially, the catgirl is a prototype transforming fighter/transport being tested for use in high profile, high risk extractions. A repaint to a more appropriate paint scheme was necessary of course, but the girl put up no fuss. Victoria suspects that Lyzack is not happy to be in her current position, something for which Victoria can not blame the girl. Victoria would not have tolerated it, herself.
She looks over at Rook in the other seat, and says, "You are quite certain of this one, it seems."

It's a F-14. Prototype transforming fighter? Suuuuure. Any aviation nerd worth his or her salt can call this what it obviously is.
The seats are front and back, as in any F-14. Victoria and Rook get to pretend they are in "Top Gun". There are oxygen masks, which, while required, no one will use, because people never use their oxygen masks like they should on TV.
Also because Rook is really a space robot. Does he even breathe?
Lyzack has been repainted before. This is at least better than being a zombie. Pretending to be a human's property is shameful, though, she thinks, as is carting the human around like a beast of burden. Lyzack remains uncertain about how to handle her shame, however.
There's the destination. She partially transforms, just her legs - it is a design detail she shares in common with her brother - to reverse her thrust entirely, and she settles herself down in the parking lot. Lyzack is a much better flier now than she was a few months ago, now that she has had the chance to stretch her wings and practise. She finds that flying feels.... right, even, like there was something missing in her life that she never knew wasn't there.

Cheetor can be injured when snakes constrict him, Terrorsaur's voice sounds strangled when Rhinox chokes him, and Rattrap's submarine is airtight. Rook maybe has to breathe? Perhaps? Best not to think too hard about it.
At any rate, he chooses to wear his oxygen mask, but wears it incorrectly, thus further confusing and infuriating fans everywhere.
"All the information looks extremely promising. There have been certain trends among those we've located," he says in the deep voice that goes with his current Tall Man Of African Descent alt-mode. His head is completely shaved and he wears dark sunglasses, a black double-breasted suit, and small gold earrings.
"I'm confident we'll find who we're looking for here. Given his abilities, it should make finding the rest much easier."

Meanwhile, Victoria does not wear her mask, because she is the badass of this segment. It's the little visual ques that tell the watcher that, you know.
She nods at Rook's assertions. "Let us hope you are correct. He would certainly be useful."
Once she is able to exit the jet, she does so. Victoria will not mention it, but she finds it... disconcerting to fly within another Transformer. It reminds Victoria of how fragile she is at the moment.
"Shall we see what education this dear little librarian might provide us?"

The cockpit pops open with a hiss, and all of the straps unbuckle and retract on their own.
Lyzack just stays on the parking lot, like an inanimate thing, though she will watch her passengers as they disembark for the library.
The thought does not enter her head that she could kill Victoria. She just wishes that someone would.

Poor Shockwave, all tiny and squishy, with only her wits to rely on, instead of a giant monstrous death machine that bestrides the Earth like a colossus. Rook will play her a sad song on the world's smallest cyber-violin.
"Let's," he says, climbing out of the cockpit after Victoria. He'll hold the library door open for her as well, on the off-chance it isn't an automatic or revolving door.
//Thank you for the ride, madame. I've taken the liberty of leaving you some reading material so that you won't be bored,// he transmits on a tight beam to Lyzack. //I don't expect any trouble, but don't become so engrossed you lose track of your surroundings.//

Standing on a set of ladders in the back of the library, Pierce pauses in the middle of critically eying a returned book with a suspicious green smear on it. He doesn’t exactly know why he stops; it was as if something had moved out of the corner of his eyes but it was a wholly internal feeling and nothing had moved out of the corner of his eye at all.
Regardless, he reflexively turns and surveys the area. There was Miranda and Niels sitting at the check-out, an elderly man in the romance section, a gaggle of teens huddled around a computer and two strangely familiar customers stepping through the entrance.
Pierce carefully sets the book in his hand down.

Victoria walks directly toward Pierce, taking off her sunglasses and tucking them into her purse as she does so. She dressed for this encounter to counterpoint Rook's ensemble. Certainly, the tall pale woman with dark hair, dressed in a crisp white skirt-suit and the imposing dark-skinned gentleman beside her might turn a few heads. Her heels, bag, and jewelry provide pops of color against the white- purple, of course.
She holds a small slip of paper in her hand, which she attempts to hand to Pierce as she reaches him. "Mr. Foster, so glad you are working today. You were so helpful in my previous research. If you might be so good as assist me with locating this reference?"
The slip of paper contains the following, printed in Cybertronian: A private discussion would be mutually beneficial. On the roof, in fifteen minutes.
Might as well start with an obvious tell.

Rook has given her every piece of Japanese literature, ever. Given how quickly Transformers read and that Lyzack is a machine with very nice processors that she barely uses, she could have it all read before Rook and Victoria return.
Why would Rook give her human literature, though? Is he purposefully trying to insult her? She is a Destron! They only waste their time stealing from Earth because their families are starving - otherwise, they would be off in space, killing the Cybertrons. (That last bit might only be a fantasy on Lyzack's part.) Humanity is beneath them, except when the Emperor of Destruction is being creepy and trying to turn all human children into cyborgs to prevent them from growing up or when he's merging with his adopted human son. ...right, humanity is beneath them!
Why did he give her Japanese literature, anyway? Sure, a lot of the Cybertrons were based out of Japan, but the Autobots aren't based out of Japan here, and it is just a tiny little island nation.
Lyzack starts to read.

Weaponizing human children isn't a bad idea, actually. They're already pretty horrific.
Rook also takes off his sunglasses as he enters the building, placing them in his breast pocket. He follows at Victoria's shoulder, looking over Pierce appraisingly. If the librarian doesn't respond to Shockwave's invitation appropriately, he'll try something more subtle.

Oh, goodness, scary woman walking this way. Maybe he can hide behind this shelf before she comes here and- nope. He cans see Miranda and Niels casting them a rather surprised look
“Oh my,” he says softly when she greets him and knows his name and then hands him the note in Cybertronian. The stench of a trap stinks worse than Unicron’s maw- or at least it would if whatever tattered remains of his previous ranged senses alerted him to such intentions. This close and all he feels is his own barely repressed terror and the urgent, gnawing sense of familiarity eating away at his concentration.
He notices the rather intimidating man standing behind her and that is definitely Rook. It was the same unmistakable recognition he’d had with Xavier, but clearer actually. Sharper somehow, as if it hadn’t been distorted, but it was so frustrating to try and pick out the whats and whys when he was half deaf to it all.
If that was Rook, who was this? Bewildered, Pierce looks back to to the purple haired woman and- that shade of purple was really-
… Oh.
He gapes.

Victoria quirks a brow and a smile, "I'll take that endearing expression to mean you're up for this particular challenge. I know it will take some time, as I believe there are very few of this particular item still in existence. One might even call it rare."
She touches the top of the paper, "My contact information is there as well. Call me whenever you have news."
The smile becomes something more like a smirk as she reaches up and tries to gently close Pierce's gaping mouth. Victoria murmurs only loud enough for Pierce and Rook to hear, "Don't disappoint me, Phobia, or it will be Spinister who comes after you next."

Lyzack reads.
Wait, does Rook think that Lyzack acts like that? Like humans? She is pretty sure that she is supposed to be offended right now. She is just not sure what to do about it.
Rook is an officer, so he gets to be as offensive as he wants.
Maybe Lyzack could just claim that her window got stuck and make them walk home? However, that would make her look incompetent and would thus be shameful.

Lyzack would probably be scandalized to find out that Rook has been consuming heaps of human literature in his spare time.
The crow (he still thinks of himself that way, no matter what disguise he might don for the good of the cause) shoots Victoria a look. "With all due respect, madame, I hardly think threats of that nature are necessary here. Phobia has never been one to shirk his duty," he rumbles.

Phobia blanches at the touch because human bodies and their stupid uncontrollable psychosomatic responses, damnation and the smelter. Definitely Shockwave. Very, very definitely Shockwave and Shockwave who was going to send Spinister to kill him if he fails and Phobia really, really hopes that he’s not going to faint right now because that would be horribly, horribly embarrassing.
“Y-yes, my lord,” he manages to gasp, not daring to move a single micrometer. He casts Rook a slightly startled glance when his superior speaks up in his defense but remains mute, entirely unsure how to respond to... any of this really.
