So, I spent yesterday going through our threads to work on the Mystery Planet Wiki page. Gave me a good review of everything that's gone on so far and some of the better lines and situations in the RP. ^__^
- The very, very first post on the board came from Emirate Xaaron in the Black Desert thread. The game's off to a good start as Xaaron's player is excellent at setting the mood and introducing the one sensible, sane mech in the Autobot party. Poor Xaaron.
Madness is in the air, because there is a golden robot sprawled haphazardly on the black ground, like a toy dropped by a careless child.
Lovely line.
- Long Haul is adorable through much of the game, despite being a rough, crude transporter. I think it's the fact that he's an Autobot, and the player walks a fine line between silly and serious with him.
- Special teams tend to run in packs, and if there is a Long Haul here, he may have five other special friends with him.
Don't ask me why, but this makes me giggle.
- Smile. There are few things more terrifying than when an unarmed Autobot smiles in the face of danger. It is the look of a poisonous butterfly.
Xaaron does lovely, lovely lines like this a lot; the player is wonderfully good at setting the mood and conveying her character. Which is good because, frankly, all I know about him is what she tells me.
- The Autobots have a nice tendency of putting in neat flavor-text about the worlds they came from. Long Haul's bits about why people don't necessarily wear the Autobrand, Emirate Xaaron's pack of Decepticon cards with his face on one...
- The Autobots, unlike the Decepticons, have actually gone into detail about the time-descrepencies between the three of them. Hell, they've even had to deal with the fact that Xaaron is from a way different timeline than Long Haul and Perceptor!
'Course, the three Decepticons currently only have about a twenty-five year span in difference between them. That's pretty big for Dead End, not so much for Hook.
- His work-mates, of course, could totally build one if they wanted to. But why would they want to?
Gigglement.
- "Think I'd like it better if you guys weren't soundin' like you was running jittered-ticks in yer processors where you're needin' a fixed clock while tryin' to process the after-effects of onna Mixmaster's 'brews,' but them's the breaks."
*
He says nothing on that particular matter, as Long Haul already thinks he's crazy, and not in the, 'Foolish Autobot, you are crazy to rebel against us still!' sense to which Xaaron is accustomed.
Lots more giggles.
- "WHAT?!" he shouts, irritated. "Y'only just met me, and already you wanna ride me?"
I think it was the discussion 'handlebars' this past week that makes this even more sporfle-worthy to me than it already is. ^__^
- Watching Xaaron and Perceptor dance around the issue of the Constructicons amuses me endlessly. But I am perhaps biased because I know they can't keep Long Haul in the dark forever. In fact, as of this post, Perceptor has already started to try to tell LH about his ultimate fate.
- Because Optimus Prime was an utter idiot and got himself killed over a video game and the rest of the Autobots were even dumber and shot his body, with the Matrix, into space. However, that's moronic enough that Xaaron doesn't even want to talk about it.
Ah, comics. Gotta love how farked up they are. Poor Xaaron. *scritches*
He also has the bumpiest ride in Long Haul and he gets hurt by the mecha-dragon. Gotta love players who abuse their characters for dramatic purposes.
- I've already mentioned that Long Haul is pretty much adorable throughout. Perceptor is adorable when presented with a chance to lecture about science-y things. Water! Trees! Why organic worlds do not need caretakers!
- The Autobots do a nice job of world-building together, each of them adding on to what the others have created.
- Were their situation less precarious, he would likely be perfectly content to simply set up camp then and there to catalogue and study everything in sight.
^__^
- Long Haul meets trees is also adorable.
- The whole sequence with the dragon is mondo-fun. Poor Xaaron! Long Haul wrassles the dragon! Perceptor gives the 'sure, slaughter the mecha-dragon' go-ahead! Xaaron thinks in better grammar than Long Haul!
- And if there are, Emirate Xaaron knows what to do: throw Long Haul at it.
*
Long Haul, despite his size, is actually pretty heavy, being very densely built. Odds are, the only one in this group strong enough to throw Long Haul anywhere is Long Haul himself! And that would be awkward, at the very least.
*
Perceptor would be more than happy to debate the probability of an individual throwing himself anywhere, which would, undoubtably lead into a long dissertation on probability clouds and quantum mechanics and particle physics and...
Well, let's just say that no good can come of that just now.
^____^
- Perceptor and Xaaron's battle of wills will be interesting to see resolved. Continue on, mighty soldiers!
- "Oh yeah. An' an astro-trumpet. Worst comes to worst and I s'pose that can be smelted for someone, but y'know what? Someone better be dyin' afore that happens."
Gigglement!
- Air superiority through hang-gliding!
- It would probably horrify Xaaron to know that Megatron's life had been in Perceptor's hands - not once, but twice - and was spared because, while expedient and even justifiable, the opposite would have flown in the face of Optimus's admittedly rigorous moral standing.
I just really like this. It's a good emphasis of what cartoon Perceptor believes in and is capable of.
- Good rewrite of Pandora's Box by Xaaron's player. ^__^
