So... like Starfighter? (Sorry! Couldn't resist!) Well. Worse than Starfighter actually. I'm still trying to decide on which personality to choose, though, so we'll see.

So... like Starfighter? (Sorry! Couldn't resist!) I tell you what, Kup-3 is going to be even more disturbing to normal-Kup if normal-Kup ends up winning that vote. -_-; Hey, Starfighter's not afraid of anyone with wings. Just everyone in general. DZ-3 Starfighter's probably got the same disorder, but he compensates for it by acting overly macho and brash so that no one ever actually calls him on his weakness. Also he sucks at math. EDIT FOR DETAIL: I figure Shockwave gives him easier assignments and desk jobs because of his laser core problem, to make sure he doesn't hurt himself through overexhertion. This makes him rather irate and eager to prove that he isn't weak, so he tends to pick fights with anyone who looks like they'd lose to him. His enthusiasm's going to be way up but his actual fight skills and experience are still relatively low. The panic attacks are probably going to vanish but there's still the chance that he'll strain himself and wind up with a laser core flare anyway.

Post by Perceptor on Sept 29, 2007 16:15:00 GMT -5
DZ-3 Perceptor was long ago tapped to head a research team to develop a means to "curb the dangerous impulses of the Decepticons," ostensibly to devise some manner to better deal with the most dangerous mechs. Perhaps once, he might even have truly believed in finding a means to re-integrate Decepticons and Autobots into a single, cohesive society again.
Over time, though, that research was warped and twisted, becoming less about "integration" and more about "control... and then utter subjugation. Eventually, even subjugation was abandoned in favor of elimination. By that time, however, Perceptor had long since ceased seeing Decepticons as living, thinking, feeling beings, and now views them all as nothing more than subjects for his work-- a classification no longer strictly reserved for Decepticons. Over the years, his research team has... departed; some mechs have moved on to other careers, others, however, vanished altogether and further investigation is actively discouraged.
DZ-3 Perceptor is a true sociopath who utilizes his twisted brilliance to develop weapons for the Autobots, primarily because they allow him the access and the freedom to continue his "work". The Autobots tend to maintain a comfortable enough distance for plausible deniability for the day that even they can no longer turn a blind eye to his actions. Given his rather successful focus on various forms of chemical weaponry and his work on bypassing personal physical defenses - vivisections and weapons testing were the order of the day - that day may be a long time coming yet.
As an aside, never drink anything he offers. Not unless you want to sign up for the Zombie Corps.
Edit: Perceptor-3 is pretty much generally kill_ok.
Edit the Second: Had a change of heart; Perceptor-3 is too useful to toss with impunity, so I'm removing him from kill_ok status. If someone has something uber cool that would result in him getting offed, run it past me and we'll negotiate, but for now... I would like to keep him around to continue to torment and horrify everyone.

If Thundercracker and Skyfire want to do some networking about their relationships with DZ3 Starscream here, that would be great
Starscream-3 is an honourable person who has fought hard, so much so that he has achieved such a high rank as Megatron's second-in-command, but also his trusted friend. A position that both honours and humbles him. Starscream will often serve as Megatron's confidante - If Starscream feels Megatron has made a decision that was unwise, he will address the matter with him privately, and always with respect.
When Optimus Prime led a shuttle to conquest more worlds, Starscream was right by Megatron's side, which led them to earth. He's served loyally at Megatron's side. Contributions of note are that Starscream will always reluctantly assume the rule of leader whenever Megatron is absent or otherwise unable to lead. He once nearly convinced Red Alert that the Autobots were wrong, but did not succeed. At one point, Starscream was accused of treachery (This was later proven to be a set-up from Autobot sabotage). Megatron believed he was innocent but Starscream could see the doubt in the other Decepticons and went on a self-imposed exile. Starscream used this opportunity to operate solo, freeing five personality core transfers to an Autobot prison Colony. Using his own know-how, he fashioned five bodies for them, calling them the Combaticons - Starscream's peace core. Using the Combaticons he was able to defeat the autobots responsible for his framing, but not before the Combaticons snapped, from too much torture at the hands of the Autobots whilst imprisoned. The Combaticons, and their merged form Bruticus rampaged on Cybertron and building a device that would throw the earth into the sun. The Autobots were afraid of losing their colony, and reluctantly agreed to work with the Decepticons to take down Bruticus. After the battle, the Combaticons were successfully deprogrammed into warriors loyal to Megatron and Starscream.
Starscream is a competent leader, but he does not aspire for any great rank, and always puts his troops ahead of himself. In fact, he doesn't always believe he has earned his rank and can doubt himself at times.
...So basically, he's Ultra Magnus with wings.

Fleetwind-3 is noble, couragous, and just a bit foolhardy despite his fraility. He expects every battle to be his last, and intends to go out in a blaze of glory, serving his cause. When not in battle, however, he is cheerful and hopeful, firm in the rightness of his cause and the Decepticons' eventual victory. Thus far his exceptional skill, supplemented with a lot of luck.
I am completely open to his luck running out during the course of this plot. DZ-3 Fleetwind can be considered kill_ok.

Go back far enough, and there's little difference between normal Kup and Kup-3. He was the same wild, reckless, but well-meaning and heroic youth in both realities. Perhaps normal Kup held a deep-seated streak of moral-stubbornness that Kup-3 lacked. Perhaps, although both enjoyed the positive benefits that their reputations for heroism brought them, Kup-3 enjoyed those and the privileges brought by reputation and position just a bit too much. But for whatever reason, after the Second War he stayed on Cybertron, and while he may have offered some token resistance, in the end, when the Autobots went rotten, he went right along with it. Kup-3, like normal Kup, is a powerful man with a lot of influence on Cybertron. While normal Kup has it as a side-effect of genuine dedication to the safety and well being of multiple planets and species and is willing to give it up should that prove to be best for the whole, however, Kup-3 is in love with power for power's sake. The Decepticons, Xaaron... perhaps even the odd upstart Prime... any threat to the power, privilege, and pleasure he's built for himself is something to be monitored carefully and, if need be, eliminated.
Kup-3 tells himself he's earned this. That he deserves what he's got.
Kup would point out that no one's earned the right to destroy lives like he does.

If Thundercracker and Skyfire want to do some networking about their relationships with DZ3 Starscream here, that would be great I won't be playing DZ-3 Thundercracker, so unless someone adopts him, he won't be showing up. Do I still need to work something out?

DZ-3 Sell Sword will be honorable, loyal, and generally peaceful.
This isn't to say he isn't still a merc, but probably more along the lines of what Kup was when he was younger, something more like a Knight without a master.
Where the origonal Sell Sword fled Cybertron after a massacre of sorts that he believed to be his fault, DZ 3 Sell Sword stayed, and faced the relatively minor punishment meted out to him, it wasn't his fault what had happened.
Working still as a police men, he had major issues with the bad treatment of the Decepticons, and eventually fled the planet after his views where no longer sociably acceptable, and began on his quest to right wrongs across the universe, for aminor fee, most of which he secretly funneled to the Decepticons anyway.

"Make them never need to grow, but live only to end in my name."
So Optimus Prime ordered Vector Sigma, and so the supercomputer gave life to the five Autobot jet-forms.
The Aerialbots were created as weapons for Optimus to use, utterly loyal to him, utterly ruthless, and utterly merciless. As perfectly formed as they are as weapons, their personalities leave something to be desired. Optimus has often cursed the supercomputer for giving him exactly what he asked for.
- Fireflight, the one who drifts through life and kills with a vague smile - Air Raid, the one that seems almost cautious, until the fluid starts flying, and then he'll throw himself into the thick of things - Slingshot, the confident, brutal killer who doesn't speak if he can help it - Skydive, the plotter and planner, the one who discovers newer and better ways to kill and teaches them to his brothers - Silverbolt, the lightning-touched thunder god, arrogant, brutal, and sly as a demon
Slingshot is a remorseless killer who obeys Optimus Prime without question. Other people trying to order him around... Gets a little more complicated. If they've been invested with power by Optimus, sure. If they haven't, there's a good chance they'll wind up splattered in parts in the nearby vicinity.
The Deadzone situation has led to some problems since none of the leadership around has authority from Optimus Prime. Kup-3 has to do pretty regularly poundings to keep Slingshot in line. Especially with this Rodimus Prime guy around.
On the other hand, Slingshot thinks Skyblast is adorable.
Slingshot-3 is only kill_ok if Skyblast-3 bites it.

Quick question: Should we figure out how (if at all) the 1986 Transformers movie fits into the DZ-3 continuity, especially if we have DZ-3 characters coming in during or after it happens? For example, is Unicron still evil? What about the Quintessons and the Junkions? Anyone have any input?

While Shrapnel isn't participating in this plot in either form (unless you guys go bother the normalverse one in his swamp), it is kind of relevent what DZ-3 Shrapnel is like. Or it might be. DZ-3 Shrapnel ain't no hermit.
He is, in fact, an exuberant, loyal Decepticon. On Earth, he still wound up crashing in an escape pod with Kickback and Bombshell, getting converted into an Insecticon, and winding up with no memory... But when Megatron found them again, Shrapnel and the others happily joined up.
DZ-3 Shrapnel is currently back at DZ-3 Deceptibase, holding down the fort.

Pee-Dee-3 is a crooked, crooked cop. She's also one you have a royally hard time getting rid of, due to her Junkion nature. She's also a nasty witch, and she'll extract her due through a pound of flesh if she has to. She'd prefer cold, hard cash or equivalent goods, though.
She thoroughly enjoys terrorizing Xaaron-3, obeys orders as they suit her (and suiting her includes not getting torn apart by Rodimus-3), and believes that shame is for other people. Of course, not causing collateral damage is for other people, too.
In addition to Pee-Dee's standard weapons, Pee-Dee-3 has an Arbitrator shotgun.

Where normal Gizmo is geeky, socially inept, and more comfortable around computers than other mechs, DZ-3 Gizmo is cool, hip, a smooth social operator, and quite gregarious among his fellow mechs. A brilliant computer hacker who will go to any lengths to see Autobot superiority re-established, he is also quite the social butterfly, eager to gossip and laugh with other mechs. He has developed quite the entourage of mechs and femmes -- which comes in handy, as he often has to rely on others to bail him out of brawls and battles.
As he's an inexperienced fighter, DZ-3 Gizmo has learned to talk fast and smooth to ease himself out of a tricky situation. In cases where talking does no good, he resorts to shooting and running, often leaving behind any teammates that might happen to be accompanying him. Somehow they never stay angry at him long... if they live to meet up with him again. It does pay to have some social skills.
DZ-3 Gizmo is Kill-OK.
