With a sigh, Perceptor initiates his radio protocols, answering Synapse on the other mech's private comm freqency as to send up a slightly less blaring beakon of a signal.
// Synapse, it is Perceptor; your transmission is clear. Please restrict your broadcast to this frequency. Do you know where your current position is or have a landmark nearby to triangulate your location? //

Wherever they are, Synapse's nodes twitched slightly off path, mimicking their host's surprise when Perceptor's voice is heard over Synapse's private frequency.
//P-perceptor?// relief rushes through him, forcing out any smidgen of confusion at the scientist's presence as he replies back on the same frequency. //Oh thank the makers, you heard me!//
Meanwhile one of his nodes spirals slowly into the air above the strange setting. The burnt orange structure that he is in spans for further than Synapse had thought. But as the node circles higher, Synapse can make out a fringe of green marking, hopefully, the end of the area's boundaries.
He breaths in slowly to gather some calm and reply to Perceptor's inquiries. //I'm in some sort of open-air structure that stretches along for a few kilometers. From what I have been able to gather, it's mostly free-standing. But there's some green, well....green somethings,I don't know what to identify them as surrounding the area.//
//Where are you?//

Perceptor frowns , reflexively peering around himself as he receives the answer from Synapse. // The green that you see is, most likely, vegetation. We are no longer on Cybertron, Synapse. Describe this "free-standing, open-air" structure in more detail, please. Additionally, when is your most recent memory of Cybertron datestamped at? // OOC Note: From any significant height, it should be easy to spot three significant spots of color: gold, lime green, and red - Xaaron, Long Haul, and Perceptor. Also, you should note a large helipad, rather wrecked, and surrounded by the mauled remains of tractors and other vehicles. Badly mauled. Likely by something with big claws and teeth. Additional details about the city where the Zoo is located can be found at deadzone.pbwiki.com/MysteryPlanet under the "City On A River" section.
Also, do you plan on holding off posting in the main thread until after the conversation with Perceptor is completed? If so, is it all right for the other action to continue until the threads merge? Thanks.

Higher and further out goes one node. Synapse's head cocks to one side as images and text scroll across his vision. Colors other than green and orange begin registering.
//Not on Cybertron? Wha-// Synapse cuts himself on before he can babble any further. This isn't the time, he has to stay cool and answer Perceptor's questions. Besides, something else has caught his attention. //Well, the area is primarily made out of a burnt orange metal. It seems to be some sort of holding area for alien creatures, each with their own habitat.// Synapse recalls a very recent memory in his memory banks of when one of his nodes found something barely alive past one of the walls. It had kicked feebly for a few moments before not moving at all.
//I think I see something else now. There's some sort of city, much smaller scale than anything I've ever seen before. It looks uninhabited from what I can see. Wait...wait I see something else...some rather large shapes moving about. Red, gold, and bright green.//
He pauses a moment to fix the zoom in the node's optic sensors and shrugs to gives Perceptor the last time stamp he had before finding himself in this place: it's just two days after the Autobots lifted off of Cybertron in search of more resources.
//Hold one klick...alright, I've a better focus now on the city. That red, hey, that's you!//
OOC: Hey, thanks for the details, I'll remember to check that page out more often for future reference. Also, the others can continue their actions in the main thread. I'll hold off posting there until Synapse is done talking. Thank you!

Perceptor looks around sharply at that final declaration from Synapse. Only because he knows what it is he is looking for, and he utilizes some visual magnification from his scope, does he spot the node hovering distantly in the air. It is otherwise too small and too distant to notice even amidst the sky. That the sun is low toward the horizon, far long in its stately progression through a solar cycle, helps.
Although it's not a 100% guarantee, that the observation about their position had not been supplanted by a missile lock, or suppressed in favor of a stealthy approach and attack bodes well for the being claiming to be Synapse actually being Synapse. One Perceptor is familiar with, rather than the "serial killer" Xaaron had mentioned.
// You are near; very good. Do you note any other life forms, Synapse? Although my associates are Autobots, we cannot rule out the presence of Decepticons. We have also come into contact with a large and extremely hazardous predator that may nor may not be indigenous to this world. //
The observation about the "holding area for alien creatures," however, raises another possibility.
// Are all of the "holding areas" intact, Synapse? The creature we faced might have escaped from such a facility. Other, equally formidable creatures may yet be contained there, or worse yet, have escaped and are now running free. //

Synapse's processors whir as they process three different sensory inputs at once. He concentrates the most on the information streaming from the node far above him. Slowly it turns in mid-air, scanning the rest of the surroundings. Nothing catches his attention except for the unfamiliar movement 'vegetation' and the soft caress of the warm evening air.
//Some of the cells are disfunctional, if the absence of a wall portal is any sign. Actually, some looked near mangled.//
//I don't spot anything up here. Let me check on the oth-// his words are cut off by a sharp gasp as his attention is ripped elsewhere. Mainly back to the sudden feeling of something warm and strangely textured brush heavily against his alternate node. Synapse can feel the low key vibrations rolling into is sensors. The feeling abruptly disappears and flashing optics key into his vision. A glimpse of a large muzzle and rather intimidating canines is the last thing Synapse is able to see before his second node rockets into the air to join the first.
//Correction, there seems to be signs of life in the area. No Decepticons, but whatever had been living in these holding cells, those that managed to escape, some are still roaming around.// What would he pay to have audio receptors installed on his nodes.
Something flashes in his vision, reminding Synapse clearly of sunlight glancing off metal, but it disappears before he is able to get a lock on its exact position. //There's something else, something pretty big and metal roaming around southeast of my position.//
Synapse turns his nodes back to Perceptor's direction as he glances furtively around for any signs of other surprises to look out for. //Speakng of associates, who are the others you're currently with? I don't -// The bright green mech next to Perceptor pulls an image up from his memory banks. He sharpens the image he currently sees and switches back to the old still. //Constructicon!// Hackles would rise if there were any present on Synapse's person.
What's going on? What's Perceptor doing with one of them? He really doesn't want to think about it right now. Unconsciously, his nodes slowly begin sinking lower, as if attempting to hide themselves from view.

Perceptor's gaze instinctively swings around, eying their surroundings as Synapse notes the presence of another large, metallic life form in their vicinity.
// Since you have marked our position, are you able to plot a route from your location to ours? Alternately, if you are able to describe a significant landmark between our positions, we might meet you. This settlement, though abandoned, may yet yield supplies, energy, and fuel for continued exploration. We are also seeking defensible shelter for the night. //
Knowing that Synapse can see them now, Perceptor had been expecting the other Autobot's surprised exclamation about Long Haul's presence.
// I repeat, Synapse, my associates are Autobots, // Perceptor intones gravely. // We have all, apparently, been plucked not only from various locations, and even realities, but also various times, hence my request for your most recent timestamp. I have little proof to offer you immediately, Synapse, just as you have little proof to offer me immediately that you are not an alternate from another reality where you have been turned against the Autobots. I assure you, you have less to fear from Long Haul than you do from your surroundings. The choice is yours to trust in my assurance, or not. //

Trust. It's pretty easy thing to do for the scientist (after all, who else other than the command is left back at HQ who hasn't done the equivalent of shoving a glow stick into his dorsal ports?). But it's easier said than done as Synapse watches Long Haul with skeptical optics. Perceptor has a point though, as always. But...what goes to say that Perceptor, with his explanation of alternate realities and selves, isn't well...not Perceptor? The scientist knew who Synapse was though. What other choice does the spy have?
//I-I trust you.// Outwardly, Synapse breaths a loud sigh. It takes a lot even to say that. //But what about you? Where? When are you from?//
More images are fed back to him from above and he turns his attention back to Perceptor. //I can get to where your group is pretty easily. I don't have to bother with ground obstructions.// It isn't a boastful statement, just a fact. But Synapse can't help but feel a little boost in self-confidence at the tiny observation. //There's also no sign of Decepticon movements nearby, so my passage should be relatively unnoticed.//

OOC Note: I'll post the reply to this on the main thread. This looks as good a place as any to merge them into one again. Let me get a reply in to both you and Long Haul, and then you're up in the Zoo thread again.
