Day 22, one of the Event horizon viewing rooms. Open to team good.
Mirage paces back and forth as he listens to Glyph and Rodimus puzzle through translations, finally sighing heavily and throwing himself down on to the couch in a graceful heap. He's still suffering from terrible headaches, but at least he hasn't had anymore breakdowns. He still looks tired, a bit harried, but much more collected than he did last time Rodimus saw him.
The spy hangs his head over the arm rest, looking upside down at the Prime. Mirage still finds the view lovely.
"Patience is usually a virtue I call my own; however, I am getting rather tired of feeling not alone in my own mind."
"Are you two having any luck?"
Mention of Glyph and Rodimus with permission.

Viewing Room C, Viewing Room C... a-hah! Mirage has not misled Sentinel Prime and given him the coordinates for an under-construction room that will only dump Sentinel Prime into space. Not that that's ever happened. (Often.)
He hangs around the door, taking in the tableau. Okay, so Rodimus Prime is there. Sentinel Prime disengages from the door jamb, falling into a very soldierly salute.
There's the adorable little geek, too. He hears she's a cunning linguist.

Glyph is indeed here, and you have no idea, Sentinel Prime. If properly motivated and given time to research a bit, Glyph could smear the names of any given individual and several generations of their ancestors a hundred different ways, and the layman would just find it all complete gibberish.
Thankfully, Glyph uses her powers for good!
Like right now, poring over various datapads and scrawlings, attempting to decipher what's in Mirage's programming. It's harder than the little 'bot though - the translations she gave Emirate Xaaron apparently were enough to be understood by the local Quintessons, so why is translating this proving to be such a challenge?
Mirage isn't making it any easier either. Glyph sighs, massaging the side of her head with two fingers. "Manual translation takes time, Mirage. We're doing what we can, so do try to not be such a lok about the process," she says, sounding a bit stressed.

"I certainly understand what you mean," Rodimus murmurs as Mirage complains about not feeling alone in his own mind.
Really. Rodimus understands that so hard.
Then he leans back in his seat with a sigh and a slump, lifting his right hand to rub the bridge of his nose. "Unfortunately, turns out Ghyrik wasn't much of a coder." He smirks. "Or particularly eager to help. I've identified a couple symbols, but... mostly, I'm just trying to lay out what I do recognize and let Glyph take it from there."
He lowers his hand to glance back at Mirage, and in doing so, spots Sentinel. "Oh, hi, Sentinel," he greets, returning the salute. "What's up?"

Mirage's brow furrows and he frowns. Bollocks, as the elder Jetfire would say. He spoke without thinking. He so wants this translation done, so that he can better manage his moods again.
"My apologies Rodimus," he says softly,"You are certainly worse off than I." Rodimus has all those other Matrix bearers to deal with, after all, and that is common knowledge. Certainly those riders are who Mirage refers to, if anyone wonders.
He stretches out and gets a bit more comfortable on the sofa. Lifting a hand, he waves at Sentinel.
"Ah, I see you found me easily enough. Glyph and Rodimus are helping me with a little translation problem."

Sentinel Prime drops the salute, returning to an at ease position. He gives Glyph and Rodimus Prime's work a passing glance, just long enough to take in that no, he's not going to be making any sense of that.
Hmm, Rodimus Prime is in on this... something? Sentinel Prime is not sure what they're doing that involves Mirage lounging around like he's sick while Rodimus Prime and Glyph write incomprehensible things! It must be important if Rodimus Prime is involved, though. Translation?
Sentinel Prime explains, "Oh, just wanted to finish a conversation I was having with Mirage. If this is a bad time..."

Glyph can't help a slightly bitter feeling that Rodimus got an apology and she didn't. However, she shakes it off, mostly. Back to deciphering this mess.
"Go ahead, Sentinel Prime, sir. However, I will be breaking in as I uncover pertinent things..." she says, not looking up.
"...this appears to be a program of some sort. If I'm reading this right, the mental startup command is initium."
This will bring up a heads-up display, showing power reserves and other pertinent information to Mirage. Except in Quintesson.

Rodimus turns to look back, a faint smile just pulling at the corners of his lips. "Mirage, it's because of my situation that I really can understand why it's so frustrating." He turns back to once more focus on the glyphs being displayed by, erm, Glyph. "Don't worry about it."
"And I don't mind, Sentinel - my part in this is about done, anyway." He pushes himself away from the terminal and smiles again, attempting to place a hand on Glyph's shoulder for a moment. "It's time for me to turn this one over to the expert, I think."

Mirage sits up quickly as the command initiates that display. He grimaces.
"Well, that's a help, at least. There's enough similarities between my old tech's readout and this one that I can read it. But... gah!" Mirage claps his hands on the side of his head and falls back down to the couch dramatically.
"Actually trying to read that display makes my headache worse," he grouses. He tilts his head so he can look at Glyph. "I know it's difficult, and I do appreciate your effort. I am just... testy right now. My apologies."
He grins at Rodimus, "Just because you've exhausted your ability to help, doesn't mean you have to leave, you know." The grin fades a bit at Sentinel's words. That conversation... has bad memories associated with it. Very, very bad memories now.
"Certainly Sentinel. I suppose I could stop taking up the entire couch." He swings himself up and settled into the corner in on graceful motion. Of course, Sentinel could elect to stand, or to sit in one of the ample chairs.
"Where did we leave off?"

Rodimus Prime showed up for Mirage when Hound fingered Mirage as his murderer, too. Mirage gets the second in command of the Autobots dropping everything for him, plus an adorable geek to help him sort out... Sentinel Prime hazards, "Problems with your mods?" He even manages to sound sympathetic. Headmaster messed around with Sentinel Prime's Skyboom Shield when he had it. Sentinel Prime will grudgingly admit that Headmaster actually improved the shield, but the experience was still terribly violating. Rodimus has a situation? Mirage doesn't want Rodimus to go? Sentinel Prime could almost be dizzy with all the interesting leads on dirt flying through the air. Mirage has all but dared Sentinel Prime to go sit next to him. If Sentinel Prime was in his right mind, he would bull-headedly sit right down next to Mirage, heedless of the fact that Mirage might be a serial killer, because he just couldn't let an insult on his courage slide. Even in his wrong mind now, he doesn't see any reason to let anyone suspect he's not in his right mind. So Sentinel Prime marches over and sits down next to Mirage. He starts back in, "Okay, so I was trying to remember which planets are in the Quintesson Pan Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere in my reality, right?" He looks over at Glyph and points at her. "She's your bot to ask about that." She probably actually paid attention in stellar cartography class. "But then I realized it's probably more useful if we looked up the Quintessons in this reality, since they're the ones messing with us, am I right?" Sentinel Prime grins, because he's always right. "I've been kind of... busy," which is an understatement, "but uh, I have travel alerts, for visitors to Quintesson territory." He pulls out a sheaf of those. "Route listings of which spacelines fly there." More brochures. "Aaaaand I found this kind of funny hotel review of an... 'underground Quintesson laboratory'." Sentinel Prime glances over at Mirage, shooting him a funny look. - - - OOC: Checked the information references with an admin and the Mirage reference with Mirage.

Glyph feels a little sheepish at Rodimus' gesture and compliment, maybe even blushing a bit. "Thank you, sir. I'll do what I can."
Ah, there comes an apology from Mirage. Glyph offers a bit of a smile, then looks at her notes. "If you use the command steti, that should minimize the HUD. Restituo will bring it back up..." she adds, glancing over the mess of characters in front of her. "...and tergum humus should let it run in the background."
A bit more searching. "If those work, then we might be able to formulate a translation patch so it appears in proper Cybertronian."
Glyph looks up as Sentinel Prime points her out about knowing about the Quintesson worlds back home. "Yes, the alphabets here are kind of close, bit still different enough that it's tricky to translate this, so yes - looking up the local ones is more useful..."
That paperwork gives her a bit of pause. "...if any of those are in Quintesson and aren't necessary for whatever you're doing, might I use them for more reference material?"

"Who's leaving?" Rodimus smirks. "I was just saying I'm done working." That is a very important distinction. He listens to what Sentinel has to say with some interest, frowning at the last bit. "A hotel review of an underground laboratory?" he asks doubtfully, then snorts. "Strange lab."
At Glyph's thanks and assurance, he gives the linguist a quirky little grin. "I'm sure you will, Glyph. Didn't doubt it for a moment."

He leans forward to try and peer at the papers in Sentinel's hands. This may put Mirage well into "invading personal space" territory. "That was an excellent idea, Sentinel. Would it be too much to ask for copies, once Glyph is done? I would most appreciate it. Oh!"
The commands Glyph utters do just as she said, and Mirage sighs in satisfaction. "Yes. Much better, thank you."
That funny look from Sentinel draws a slight smirk and a shrug from the spy. He drawls, "This is a planet that thrives on tourism. How else are people to know that their hospitality is lacking, their concierge is unhelpful, and their entertainment bland, if folk will not speak up about a bad experience?"

Sentinel Prime attempts to lob a brochure for QuintAir to Glyph. In Quintesson, it boasts about how, for a nominal up-charge, passengers can get 10% more cabin space for their tentacles. Belatedly, he suggests, "Catch."
He squints a bit as Rodimus Prime stays, anyway. Sentinel Prime gets sick, and he gets Springer giving him extra shifts as punishment and Elita-1 breaking his head. Mirage gets sick, and he gets Rodimus Prime dropping everything to help and Glyph boning up on extracurriculars for him.
Doesn't Mirage have a girlfriend, too? One of those fancy flying Autobots? With sweet future sight mods?
Then, suddenly, Sentinel Prime realises that while he was busy envying Mirage, Mirage has invaded his personal space. He should probably throw a minor snit-fit. He's never liked people getting up in his face, and he's supposed to be recovering from torture. The problem is, he just noticed Mirage there now, and if he throws the fit now, it's going to look weird and forced. Sentinel Prime supposes he'll just have to suffer Mirage in his personal space. Maybe it'll make Rodimus Prime jealous or something? But given Sentinel Prime's luck, it'll probably just get him filled full of holes by Oracle.
Sentinel Prime opens up and lays out on his lap one of the brochures to a rather cartoonish map of the Quintesson Sphere, which makes it out to be a really happy-fun place to be. Then, he drops a travel advisory on top of that, with advice for robots traveling in the area. The advice amounts to, 'Don't do it.' Sentinel Prime shrugs and says to Mirage, "You can keep these when we're done here. There's more brochures and travel advisories where they came from. You're not worried that they'll hunt you down over that review?"

Glyph catches the pamphlet, albeit nearly fumbling it in the process.
Skimming it, and comparing it to what she's sussed out already... "I do believe there's enough material to work with now to start said translation patch," she says, half to herself.
Sentinel Prime's comment about Mirage's review causes her to look up. Doesn't take much to put two and two together... "I think you may have fared better buying from Swindle."
