Yeep. //Yessir.// He'd forgotten how commanders other than Shockwave could get tetchy.
Starfighter flew a bit up and to the left, still moving in the same general direction but a bit farther from Skystrike. Splitting up, even just a bit, would lower the chances of it following him in particular.

Fleetwind, obediently, changes directions once more, this time diving lower as he speeds up. But even as the Seekers adjust the course, so, too, do the dirigibles. However, their movement is still slow and ungainly, and it shouldn't be too hard to outrace them.
//Sir,// Fleetwind directs to Starscream, but he continues to ensure the message can be heard by all three, //I've spotted some hatches opening on the one nearest us! I think it's about to bring some sort of weapon online!//
OOC: Anyone is allowed to post the things firing (and even decide whether it's solid ammunition or energy blasts), but if no one else does, it'll start happening on my next post. Feel free to spice things up, though!

Skystrike could almost feel the air become charged at the sight.
//Starscream, sir, evasive maneuvers highly recommended!// The blue jet uttered as she spotted the glow of high powered energy weapons. Her combat system came online in a blink but she didn’t need that to tell her to pull up.
OOC: I imagine that there’ll be both solid ammunition and energy blasts, although energy blasts would be the first wave?

//THANK you, I've done this before!!// Starscream snaps at Skystrike. //Decepticons, Scramble! Evasive maneuvers!// The Gray F-15 banks down hard. //Full speed until we are out of range! Do NOT engage!// He does not want to risk energon, but the way things are going, he may have to change his own orders.

Scrambling like hell, sir.
Starfighter isn't as fast as Starscream, but he's staying on the other seeker's tail as much as he can. There's a small voice in the back of his mind that says 'you know, you really should have seen that coming. Anything that Starscream thinks is a good idea, probably isn't'.

Fleetwind continued to dive, then suddenly snapped upwards as the dirigibles began to fire on the Seekers. He jinked down and to the left, then up again, avoiding two shots, but the action brought his "shark fin" in line of a third. So he transformed and, thanks to the fact that he was a G1 cartoon Seeker whose robot mode was identical to the robot mode of Seekers who have F-15 alternate modes, his fin was subspaced in time to avoid being shot. He transformed again, the whole maneuver occurring about as quickly as a normal, non-Jumpstarter Transformer is able to double-transform.
//Blast,// the Seeker muttered first, but then he added something more useful. //Looks like they've got some sort of solid weapon coming on-line, too, but we should have no problem staying out of range of those. They seem to have hit their max speed.//
OOC: Their solid weapons are harpoons, which are used for siphoning fuel, in case anyone wants to make use of that in the future. As Fleetwind said, though, as long as we don't move towards them, they won't get the chance to use them this encounter. Credit for the idea goes to Xaaron.

Starscream began to avoid the initial volley of laser fire with a minimal of effort. And the other Seekers would be able to tell. However any attacks at him are also potentially being fired at Starfighter--Starscream made a mental reminder to later clarify to Starfighter exactly what 'Scrambling' is, as closely following others is not that.
Nevertheless, Starscream's overconfidence got the better of him yet again. //If this is the best this planet has to offer, they would be better off simply handing rule over to m-// and then a laser shot grazed his wing. "Aaagh!" It was more of a yelp of surprise than of any agony. But it was enough to anger him (angry at himself for embarrasing himself but taking it out on the thing that shot at him) and to make him change his mind. He performed a sharp turn as he powered up his weapons.
//Change of orders! Activate all weapons and wipe this craft out of the sky. DO IT!//
OOC: Feel free to pose powering up and attacking in the same round. I didn't because of the time everything else in my pose would have taken.

Starfighter split off from Starscream, keeping within firing range but only just so. He targeted the upper body of the craft, avoiding any scanning or recording equipment that might be encased below--there was almost no chance that Starscream and the others would leave so much as a microchip left to scavenge information from, but at least he wouldn't be held responsible for it when they did.
Not worth their time, hah. Starfighter really missed Shockwave and his logical decisions that didn't involve acting like a prat.

The pastel pyramid took Starscream's change in orders easily enough. He may not have thought much of the motivation, lacking a sense of pride as he did, but he had had some concerns about leaving something like this to shoot them in their backs, and the attack nicely quelled them.
Fleetwind executed a tight, swift turn and flew directly at the craft, wing-mounted blasters blazing. Starfighter was right; Fleetwind wasn't concerned with scavenging their microchips. However, if these heavier-than-air fliers weren't cheating with anti-gravs, the big bits on the top were most likely what's keeping them up. It was easy to see from Starfighter's blasts that the top area was armored at least moderately, but it was also easy to see that those same blasts were weakening the armor. The pastel pyramid jerked suddenly to the right as a siphon-tip shot by him, long hose attached. He then returned fire, aiming for the area already weakened by Starfighter.
The shots got through, and the result was spectacular as the flammable gas that held the devices aloft caught fire almost instantaneously. The other two dirigibles were rocked by the force of the third one's explosion, and Fleetwind whistled appreciatively using his audible vocalizer.
One down, two to go.

As a matter of fact, Starscream was all about hoping this device is salvageable. The fuel and tech that could be siphoned from them could prove to be profitable compared to the expense in bringing the craft down. He was acutely aware of how strapped for parts they were.
The F-15's Null-Ray was ready for firing. Emitters mounted to either wing let forth a paralyzing blast. Starscream did his best to aim for one of the open hatches of the craft. The Null-Ray blast disabled a weapons battery while causing widespread shut-down of the craft. It wasn't enough to down it, but it's definitely weakened. And while some circuitry might've been shorted out, on the whole the craft is still intact!

Starfighter ducked about and darted around one of the other dirigibles, again aiming for the rudder to bring it down without too much damage. He transformed as he saw the first craft begin to fall and dove down to catch what he could of the mechanism before it hit the ground and shattered.
He felt rather proud of himself for handling this so well, actually. The battle seemed, if not easy, at least simple enough to get out of without major casualties. He was faster than his opponents, and assuming he screwed up majorly he had the other seekers to watch his back.
...and then to reprimand him for doing such a poor job. Oh dear.

So there was one falling, flaming dirigible, one dirigible disabled by Starscream's Null Rays, and one with a rudder that had been crippled by Starfighter before the blue Seeker had decided to dive after the falling dirigible*
The yellow Seeker dodged the automated attack system for a moment as he considered his options, then decided that Starfighter had had the right idea of going after its rudder. Fleetwind increased fuel to his thrusters and closed the distance between himself and the crippled dirigible, his flight path erratic enough to throw off the thing's blasts as he zipped directly beneath it.
As soon as he had passed it, he transformed and pulled his legs to his chest and tumbled briefly before straightening again, this time so that he his legs were facing in the opposite direction. Then he flew back towards the craft, his right hand lifting towards the upward pointed tip of his left wing and his left hand reaching towards the right wing. In a practiced motion, he appeared to break off the tips of his wings. As he lowered his hands, he thumbed the hidden switches and activated his red and green energy daggers just as he came within striking range of the rudder.
The Seeker smiled as he prepared to tear into the other machine. This close to it, it couldn't use any of its weapons, all ranged, against him, and the other two craft were in no position to fire at him.
* By the by, the good bits of a dirigible are generally underneath the large, flaming portion. Uhm. Well, all right. Ideally, there should be no large, flaming portion, but if there is, the good bits are beneath it.

Whilst aggresively avoiding the enemy's firing Starscream let loose another volley of null blasts. This drains more energy than his normal weaponry but it would just cost more fuel if he required further repairs. Between this volley and the last, the craft suffered enough damage to go lock down and enter into a free fall. Starscream wasn't going to bother catching it as it merely made him a sitting duck for the remaining dirigible.
This left the one that Fleetwind was tending to. And Starfighter and Skystrike were apparently out of the picture. Assuming Skystrike's player has no objections, he can be helping Starfighter with the rather large dirigible. Starscream shifted his vector so that he was in the line of firing for the final dirigible. "Come on then, do your worst!" he yelled, taunting whoever might have been listening in the craft, as he performed aerial stunt after stunt.

And now Starscream was actually yelling at the stupid thing. If it was an automaton it wouldn't care and if it was powered by intelligent beings it would only make them angry. Such are those in power.
Starfighter tucked what machinery he'd managed to catch into his subspace pocket, then frantically tore away the flaming portions that had managed to both exist and attach themselves to him. Fortunately, there were few bits that met both qualifications and the seeker was able to get himself free in time to dive for the one Starscream had just brought down.

Fleetwind had completely disabled the remaining dirigible’s steering mechanism, and began working on what looked to be its propulsion, his energy daggers leaving bright trails as he slashed at the device.
// I should have this thing immobile but still aloft here in a moment, sir, // he radioed, his report directed towards Starscream but transmitted to Starfighter and Skystrike as well. // If we want one of these in one piece, this one's our best option, but I haven't touched the weapons yet, and shutting them down one by one is liable to take awhile. They appear to be equipped for ranged combat only, and I haven't encountered any resistance since getting inside their defenses. //
