// It is good to hear you again, Skyfire. Have you managed to contact anyone on the planet's surface? Are they well? How badly damaged is Omega Supreme? // Perceptor asks rapid fire.

//Hello Skyfire!// Safeguard greets in his- their?- double-voice.
The combined jet follows after Jetfire, making a rather unnecessary roll as he changes course to head for the station. Still, he's not entirely happy about this detour when they're so close to their goal!
//Why can we not just being heading straight to planet surface? It is what Omega Supreme was doing.//
Forgetting that Omega Supreme didn't exactly land intentionally...

// No, Perceptor, I have not. I have been maintaining radio silence due to the close proximity of the Decepticon warship. I have visuals, // Skyfire sends over orbital imagery of Omega Supreme, crashed.
// The locals do not approve of unidentified craft diving straight for the planet's surface. It appears hostile. They prefer that you at least get clearance from the space station, // Skyfire explains to Safeguard.

Holi can't hide the worried pull at the corners of his mouth when he looks up; there's been no response from Clipper, but Springer answered, so he knows he can reach the Autobots on the surface; if interception is a problem he's sure he can secure the radio bands, too. Why won't Clipper answer?
"I've reached Springer, sir," he finally answers Perceptor, calm voice belying his newfound worry. But he offers little more than that; he doesn't have much else to share at the moment, really.
A fortunate coincidence that he isn't talking over the response that finally comes to Jetfire from station control.
//Welcome to Pz-Zazz,// drones a feminine voice, husky from overuse and flat with boredom. Her transmission is simulcast in a smattering of other languages. //You're logged on dock number eight if you want it, docking pass <serial number here> for surface stations, register all exotic pets animal vegetable or mineral with code enforcement when you arrive, translation services are available upon request, shuttles depart every twenty minutes. The Pz-Zazz Transit Authority and Pz-Zazz Tourism Board thank you for your business, enjoy your stay.// And then she disconnects again, probably to read the same script to the next arriving vessel.

Jetfire files away that surface docking pass code, as well as the flight vector that the traffic control simultaneously pings him with, even as he's altering his trajectory again to bypass the station. He fires off a courtesy reply, a simple ping of thanks, and then transmits to the others in their party.
// Clearance obtained. Let's go find our wayward friends, eh? Joining us, Skyfire? Or staying on station to keep relaying and watching the 'Cons? // Thin licks of flame begin to flicker across his windows, nose just starting to glow as Jetfire hits the upper edge of atmosphere and begins knifing through it.
Better hold on tight, Holi. It'll be bumpy for a short bit.

"Excellent, Holi," Perceptor replies, interpreting Holi's tense concern for general worry over everyone, and not a specific fear for Clipper.
"What is their status?"

// Joining you, // Skyfire radios. // Someone has to watch your aft, and they may need my carrying capacity to, er, depart. // Where 'depart' means 'escape', of course.
Skyfire slots into Jetfire's re-entry track so closely that they appear as one vehicle to distant radar and Mark I eyeball scans. The turbulence of shocked plasma in Jetfire's wake tosses him and tries to throw him off course to burn up or skip back off into space, but Skyfire holds his course.

Like elder Jetfire, the twins store the docking code and the vector - gotta keep where to go and how to get through in mind, after all!
//Yes, let us go to be helping out!// Safeguard moves off to the side after agreeing, and as the flames start to wrap around his form, he begins to rotate, spiraling down towards Pz-Zazz, making for a visually impressive entry.
Whee!

Holi has only ever made planetfall in larger ships before – mostly Galaxy Shuttle – so this rougher ride is a hectic new experience. But he doesn't do much more than make certain he has a secure hold on his own passenger and wait for the turbulence to subside, keeping his posture alert and his expression calm yet stern.
Inside, he's a nervous wreck.
"…Working on that, sir," he tells Perceptor, all business.

ooc: sorry for the delay, all. RL has... been a trial.
----------
Jetfire loves this part. The scorch of fire wreathing about his form as he knifes through the ever thickening atmosphere. The lick of plasma across his plating, the quiver and roar of his engines howling through the turbulence, singing across every relay like the rough caress of a lover. It always makes him feel so alive like not even battle can really do. He is tempted to indulge in a little roll of joy, but he is too old and too experienced to surrender to the impulse on his first entry to this planet's atmosphere.
There is, after all, no such thing as a "totally routine landing" for a Seeker.
The next re-entry, though, when he has a good dataset of this plate's atmosphere... well, that's another story altogether. Heh.
"Transmitting new vectors," he rumbles, echoing that on short range broadband to the others as he alters course subtly to bring him in on a careful approcah to Omega Supreme's crash site. He may have to cruise past and find a suitable landing site for his alt mode, but Jetfire, Jetstorm, and Skyfire ought to be able to simply transform and land there once they arrive. Which should be quite soon now, so he begins dumping speed as the last flickers of plasma wisp away into the ether.

"Very good, Holi," Perceptor replies, his scope bobbing just a bit in an odd little alt-mode nod. "Once we have cleared the turbulance and Jetfire has leveled out, Holi, would you please elevate me to a position where I may obtain a visual upon the planet's surface?"
He's planning on trying to get a lock on the crash site. yes, from approach. Curvature of the planet, what? Electric lava!

For two explorers that look so different, their hearts and souls are in much the same place. Riding Jetfire's wake is both easier and harder than being the first one in. Jetfire has set the course, but he's trailing his own wake vortices behind; Skyfire has to deal with those as well. He finds himself pulling just below Jetfire, surfing the old explorer's plasma wake without eating his turbulence--the same position Starscream used to drop into when they enacted a dual re-entry.
Out of the black-out zone, Skyfire receives Jetfire's transmission. "Acknowledged and course corrections applied... now."
He, too, begins looking for Omega Supreme's crash site. The big rocket shouldn't be too hard to spot; Skyfire saw him from orbit when he was surveying Gillanan III.

Safeguard lags a bit behind the two 'Fires, sacrificing speed in favour of some simple acrobatics. They'll be getting to their destination soon enough and they'll have to slow down some more for a landing anyway, so it's not as if he is wasting time or anything. At least not much.

Holi finally seems to remember he exists outside the cacophony of the airwaves after a few long moments have passed; his optic band brightens and he blinks once or twice, as if coming out of a daze. His receivers are still tingling; it's been a while since he was in an area with so much traffic. "What was that, doctor?" he asks, chagrined. "I was… getting a report from Springer." The first part of which he relays in short order.

Slowly, the fire begins to ebb, and the plasma gives one last, lingering caress as it flickers away into the ether as Jetfire's speed begins to drop into atmospheric levels. He can feel the tics and pings of his plating as it ceases heating up, and then begins to cool as he knifes through the chilled air. Atmo. And there, in the distance, the jumbled, crowded scene of Omega Supreme's rather... unexpected landing. Looks like a course correction will be in order. Jetfire angles off toward the spaceport for a landing, the others slipping in behind his wake to follow. ooc: other folks posed with permission. Thread now complete and moved to Crashdown: Cavalry Arrives.
