“Human eyes aren’t constructed to deal with looking directly at a light source – they’re really too sensitive for it. So, even when it’s not bright…”
Oh! First Aid returns Synapse’s bow automatically. It may not be his usual greeting, but it’s good to answer people’s courtesies in kind. “Hello, Synapse,” he says, watching him with a critical, concerned eye, “Getting used to things? I'm glad to see you moving.”

"Too sensitive? But don't they have sunglasses? They could wear those and cut down on the light."
Slingshot, master of bizarre ideas.
"Yo, short-stuff."

Humans? Those are the natives of the planet that Optimus and his crew aboard the Ark are supposed to encounter on "Earth" right? How curious. There's a slight cant to Synapse's head that isn't coming from looking up at the two mechs as he observes their back and forth. One can imagine that this conversation is going to be kept for future reference and perusal if they ever hit this "Earth". It shall join a copy of Rodimus Prime's data entry on Earth and its inhabitants that is resting in his memory banks.
"Humans, they seem to be a very sensitive species," Synapse says, though with the volume of his voice it would almost seem as if he's speaking to himself.
Oh dear, attention on him? First Aid's return bow earns an embarrassed smile and Slingshots greeting sends his gaze to the floor. Synapse nearly bobs again at the address, but barely manages to stop himself. That would seem much to excess, wouldn't it? "I am adjusting," he murmurs, look flickering between the suddenly interesting tiles and the peculiar duo. The scout quickly makes an addition to the comment though. It would not be good to sound as if the repairs were not good. "It will not be an issue, everything shall be running smoothly soon, thank you."

“They’re for cutting down on glare, that’s true, but mostly the light from a screen’s too low to make the solution practical. It’d be too dark to read. They’re great for snow, though!”
First Aid thinks maybe he gets more of his patients trying to reassure him than any other doctor he knows. “Good!” he says brightly to Synapse, and then, a little more seriously but still cheerful, “Some minor disorientation is normal, but make sure to tell me if you have any concerns, all right?”

"So, wait, screens are too bright for human eyes but too dim for sunglasses to be helpful? Why?"
Slingshot mostly ignores Synapse as Synapse isn't talking to him, and isn't being especially interesting to the Aerialbot. He's short. He's green. He doesn't talk very loudly.
So Slingshot starts shuffling his flash-cards again while the whole doctor-patient talk is going on.

Snow? What's that? Many apologies, but this one hasn't experienced such a weather phenomenon yet.
It is not so much Synapse reassuring First Aid than Synapse making sure that he hasn't made some sort of verbal blunder on his part. Those sorts of worries plague the scout often enough. "I shall be sure to notify you promptly."
The flicker of movement in Slingshot's direction brings his attention to the larger flier. Synapse peers for a moment, ignoring the unfolding path of tunnels streaming at his peripherals in order to figure out what the other is doing. His curiosity is overridden by manners once more and Synapse's gaze travels down to the ground again.
Short, green, and a mumbler, Synapse would like nothing better than perhaps go melting into a wall and return to his role of observer. It's so much simpler than actually interacting. "It was a pleasure," he nods and begins taking a few slow steps back. "I...I shall be on my way then."
OOC: Synapse pulls the escape card and will be heading out unless stopped.

“Good to talk to you!” First Aid calls after Synapse. Good, he really does look to be recovering well. One worry down!
“It’s probably possible to design eye shades for computer monitors,” he tells Slingshot, “It’s just that no one has. But the screens are like that because of engineering constraints. To make a display compact, it’s easiest and cheapest to light it from inside. It is usable then, if you keep it low enough that you don’t need a shade to look at it for a while. The trouble is that most work that involves computers requires you to look at it for longer than a while. It’s something that builds up.”

"Yeah." Slingshot gives a wave after Synapse that could just as easily be taken as a 'go away' gesture.
After he's decided Synapse has had enough time to scram, the Aerialbot turns to First Aid. "Hey," he says more quietly than his usual indoor-voice. "You get a good look at that guy I shot. After, you know, Skyblast-"
He waves a hand vaguely as if that explains exactly what he means.

It is pretty clear! Happened recently enough.
First Aid tilts his head, attempting to come up with a clearer image than a large, white, peripheral blurr. Finally he shakes his head. “I didn’t,” he says, voice pitched slightly softer than Slingshot’s.

"Yeah." Slingshot isn't aware he's doing it, but his gaze has drifted down to First Aid's chest so he doesn't have to look the Protectobot in the optic. "Went gray-scale after he shot me. Kinda staticky. I shot back, but-"
He gives a harsh bark of laughter. "Well, he can't have been on our side, because none of ours have injuries like that."

“No, nothing matches up.” It wouldn’t anyway, because he hadn’t gone back even though he really should have. Knowingly withholding care from wounded belonging to an opposing party is a crime. Making decisions on order of treatment and transportation based on anything other than medical need is also a crime, and though he could make a good case, if called to answer for it, that it was medical need that had driven his actions - he’s not quite sure how honest a case it would be.
Not the point now, though. First Aid considers for a moment and then says, “You couldn’t tell just who you were shooting at, when you fired.” It’s not incredulous or accusatory. It’s just an offering back for confirmation what Slingshot already told him.
Of course, considering the current lack of optical contact, he’s not certain how well that’ll come across.

"Yeah." The ailerons on Slingshot's wings flex slowly. "... Yeah. They shot at me. But-"
He shrugs suddenly, looking up at First Aid's face again. "They weren't on our side. None of our guys came in with holes from my gun."

“No, you didn’t hit any of us.” Looking right back.
He’s not entirely sure what all Slingshot’s working through here, even if he thinks he’s got a handle on the general outlines, and he doesn’t want to take a guess and derail it.

"What if-" Slingshot frowns as a thought occurs to him, then plows ahead anyway. "-If it's the other me. We're identical. How're you going to tell us apart in a firefight?"

“Well…” First Aid considers, “During or after the fact? Because you and your counterpart are identical, but I doubt you have the same maintenance history – even when two weapons start out the same, when they have different histories, the damage they leave isn’t the same anymore. I shouldn’t have any trouble finding that, if I’m looking for it. And I haven’t met him, so I don’t know, but I bet you don’t move quite the same either. And I could always radio you, like we were doing.”
