"Radioing isn't fast enough," Slingshot declares. "You need a way to know in less than a second whether or not it's me."
He frowns, trying to figure out an answer to that. But he never was much of a technician.

“Only because you both have to – Hmm, a simple radio beacon might work, if we worked them up for everyone.” Considering ways and means here!

"Yeah, but how do you keep the other side from hearing them?"

“It’d just be simple, no real informati – Oh, but that could give positions away, couldn’t it?” Good at engineering, not always so clever at tactics. “Trouble is, we’re low on resources. It’s make up and make do...” Everything’s easier with good supply lines.

If Slingshot knew more about radios, frequencies, and encryptions, he'd point out that if the bad guys aren't listening to the right frequency, they might never hear it.
Alas, what Slingshot knows almost always falls into one of two categories: 1) flying, and 2) shooting people.
"I wish we could automate the whole 'is this Slingshot?'/'this is Slingshot' transmission thing. So you don't gotta think about it, it just goes."

“I could do that, actually. I’m not comfortable –” First Aid pauses. “It’s probably best to work up something external, I think.” He brightens up. “Though I can tell you right now that if I’ve got a gun to pull on you, that’s not me.”
OOC: Gah! I’m sorry.

“It’s just easier and safer – I don’t want to open everybody back up again if I can help it.”

First Aid doesn’t quite laugh. “Thanks.” And then he does laugh, softly. “I appreciate the vote of confidence.”

The gap between what Slingshot thinks he's saying and what he's actually saying is rarely more obvious. "Yeah, sure."
He cocks his head as something comes up on the radio. "... There's a not-evil Starscream?"

“He didn’t say that when he was talking to Botanica and I. Just that he’s not the one we know.” First Aid shrugs. “I suppose the Emirate decided he does have good character.”
Uncomfortable with the situation? First Aid?

It takes a moment for Slingshot to parse those pronouns as not applying to Emirate Xaaron.
"You MET him?!"
Agh! First Aid doesn't shoot people! Agh! What if the next Starscream he meets isn't so nice! Agh!

“Yes – I would have said something, but it seemed like it was still under wraps, y’know?” Misreading Slingshot’s issue, ahoy! “I really don’t know what to make of the guy. Starscream, I mean. He’s pushy.”

"Pushy." Pushy is not a good thing for Starscreams to be around Slingshot. "What else did he do?"
