First Aid shrugs. "He surrendered, which. It wasn't the wrong thing to do, exactly, but it made everything more tense. I don't think he meant to do that? But at the time, it made me nervous. I don't know. I wasn't there for long."

"Starscream surrendered?" Incredulity colored Slingshot's voice with traces of suspicion coming in to play for the second word. Starscream surrendered. Came in saying he was nice and fluffy, and he surrendered.
Shyeah, right. They were going to believe this? Starscream always lied.
"What happened?"

“He had a small detachment with him, and they spotted us before we could get under cover. I was pretty surprised when they landed, since the trees just screened Botanica and I from sight – she sustained a burn during the pull out, and I wanted to check on her, so I’d followed her up. And then Starscream said he wasn’t the person we knew, and Botanica told him that wasn’t particularly reassuring. So he surrendered to convince us.” First Aid tilts his head. “He’s really not the same person. He removed his null rays and his troops actually respected that.”

Or Starscream is a really good liar. It's nice that First Aid prefers to think the best of people, but Slingshot knows better than to trust Decepticon Seekers.
"Enh. We'll see."

Really, this is mostly First Aid having trouble imagining a situation where the Starscream he’s accustomed to disarmed himself and no one at all succumbed to the temptation to take a pot shot.
“I suppose we will,” he says, “And it certainly won’t be boring, whatever else it is.”

If Slingshot were older and more experienced, he might point out that boring is a lot nicer than interesting.
"Yeah. We will."

“So I suppose we’d better be ready,” First Aid says, feeling and sounding altogether more cheerful than this concept warrants being (he’s never thought too hard about the way oncoming crises clear up his mind, mostly because he has a vague feeling that it’s a bit warped, but they do a beautiful job). And off down the corridor. -- Yes, I think so.
