"Oh.." Slider says, slightly disappointed, "I was kind of hoping you could ell me what the humans were like. They seem to play a pretty big role in everyone's realities, what with having a presence in all of them..."
He's about to continue when Drift's question catches him and neatly derails his thought train.
"Well I guess I'm best at ambushes and running fights. In the chaos of it all, the 'cons would drop their guard a little and it make shooting them much easier on me."
Present company excluded of course.

"Humans?" Drift shrugs. "Never heard of 'em." Nope. Not important in his war. At all.
He shifts uncomfortably at the mention of Megatron. He had been, after all, personally recruited by the mech, given most of his training under his auspices. "Yeah. Megatron has a way of...twisting things." Like ideals.
He smiles--don't faint, now!--at Slider. Ah, someone he could actually understand. "Nothing like a little chaos, when blunt force doesn't work, right?"

Cheetor tilts his head a bit, then shakes it lightly. "No, just protohumans around toward the last leg of our time there."
Heh, diversionary tactic talk. "Hah, yeah, stirring up confusion is great, especially amidst a bunch of drones."

"And destroying the things we care about," Slider added. It took a certain king of mech to poison his own world. It's almost sad how universally consistent he was.
Although Slider wanted to talk about their interests and things like that, it was just easier for him to talk shop. He's not going to faint Drift, he'd going to grin a little broader.
"I don't really have any blunt force to give. That was usually what the rest of my team took care of. What about you two?"

Well, then. Something we can agree on: Megatron is bad. Huh. Should have tried that one earlier. Basic Autobot tenet, really. Drift's dismayed he didn't think of this one earlier.
"Megatron has...I don't know. You hear him talk and you...he twists you." ...Right. Drift puts the cube down, pushing it away. Enough of THAT mouth-running juice right there.
"I...uh...," How to put this? "I was Second in Command. Kinda...just waded on in. Yelling."

Cheetor nods a bit at Drift. "Guess his way with words is a constant, too? I know the Megatron we were dealing with was certainly charismatic."
Then he looks over at Slider. "I usually did hit-and-run stuff." A pause. "Well. I was usually supposed to do hit-and-run stuff, but back on Earth, I was...kind of an idiot and tried to show off too much and just got in trouble a lot."

"Blitzer," Slider says in response to Cheetor, "He was one of the mechs in my old unit. He was like that. What changed?"
Drift may have put his cube down, but definitely not before catching Slider's attention with the last comment.
"What did he twist Drift?"

Drift tries not to glare at Cheetor. Showoffs. Drift has the hypocrite's distaste of other mechs who try to take things over. He did it to win the war, though, not to look good. Turmoil was too cautious, too cowardly. He'd needed the push. It totally wasn't about Deadlock. "Good way to get yourself offlined," he mutters.
Frag. Slider notices a bit too much for his own good. Careful, Slider: Drift knows where you sleep.
But...you know where he sleeps....
Well played, Slider, Well. Played.

Cheetor nods and grins a bit sheepishly at Drift. "I know, I know - like I said, though -was- kind of an idiot. I got better." He folds his arms, then leans his head back a bit to look up at the ceiling to address Slider's question about what changed. "Well, once our Megatron tried to break the timestream and things got really serious, had an instance where my showboating near about wiped me out. Optimus hauled my skidplate out of the fire again, thankfully, but that's where I started to get it through my thick head."
He's got nothing to say in response to Drift's words about Megatron, other than a solemn nod - he's had friends that got tempted and corrupted by that glitch-head, so while he doesn't know first-hand, he's seen it happen to others.
