Breakaway is aware of exactly how uncomfortable the concept he's considering is. He is from Bayverse. If everyone constantly regenerated wounds in eternal combat where he comes from, you wouldn't be able to walk for tripping over all the ripped-off faces on the ground.
"That's rough, 'bot." he replies to Slider, then he snorts. "If there's one thing the 'Cons love to do, it's shoot the medic."

"It'd at least be a change of view!" Whirligig says cheerfully at Perceptor's offer. He contemplates Perceptor's other suggestion, his shoulder sparking again as he attempts to lift a hand up to rub his chin. "Ow. You know, I do have that frequency I got from that guy in that place that one time. I should try that! Could be fun- I'm thinking out loud."
There's a habit from his stuck-alone days (Years? Decades? Longer? He may never know) that he hasn't managed to shed.
He's actually quiet for a bit, before piping up with, "This whole war business seems awfully wasteful, y'know? With all the dying." Because most people totally just go to war for kicks, right? "And we actually did pretty good with the whole battle thing, if you think about it. Y'know, with the whole not dying thing."

"Thus far, yes," Perceptor agrees with Whirligig. He offers the smaller mech a small smirk. "Although, I have not completed your repairs. I could hedge the bets, if you would prefer?" he asks innocently. Look! Perceptor just made a joke! Everyone check their sparks to make sure they're still functioning!
"Dark energon," Perceptor muses, frowning. "I would like to hear more of this 'dark energon' later, if you wouldn't mind, Slider. Warned ahead is armed ahead, after all." He's concentrating on something else to avoid thinking about a casualty rate of 80%. Inevitably, he cannot help but wonder, translating those figures to the crew of the Event Horizon. Who would live? Worse, who would not?
Skyfire is fortunate enough to utterly derail those thoughts, though.
"Oh, hello, Skyfi-- Wait. What? Main power? Spliced?" he asks, confusion giving way to exasperated anger for a moment. He points to another berth, one of the ones built for the larger mechs. "Sit. Now."

Skyfire looks sheepish and promptly sits down where indicated. "It's a bit embarassing--Fleetwind, of all people, managed to cut my main power lead with a lucky shot. I guess I was letting Starscream and his missiles distract me too much."
He turns his head slightly. "I see you managed, Whirligig. Sorry about leaving the fight early on you."

"That they do," Slider nodded solemnly towards Breakaway before shutting down motor control to let Perceptor work. In the meantime he watched Skyfire quietly feeling that he'd seen the mech somewhere before, and he was probably right.

Breakaway looks over at Whirligig out of the corner of his optic. It's easier than turning his head, all things considered. "Whose frequency you got, 'Gig?"
He sits up in bed (again) when Skyfire walks in, then quickly lies back down, hopefully before Perceptor sees him. "Sounds like you saw some serious action."

"I would bet good money on my survival, y'know! If I had any good money. Or bad money." He does manage a small shrug without causing anything to lock up or spark. Though that does give him the idea of betting people that he can survive performing stupid stunts whenever they stop on another planet... he's bound to perform stupid stunts anyway, he might as well make a profit off it!
He flaps a hand reassuringly at Skyfire - which does result in it locking up in a half-raised position. Whoops. Well, that was his dumb hand, anyway. "No prob, plum-bob! I got powerful forces on my side."
Tilting his head slightly to glance at Breakaway, he grins and says, "I don't even know."

Dinobot marches into the medical bay, Spy Shot 6 in his hand, and deposits the little Autobot on the first counter he sees. "Another patient for you," he says, giving Perceptor a respectful nod.
"I must go and attend to my duties." The Maximal leers unpleasantly. "Off to do glorious battle with the wiring," he grouses as he turns to leave.
OOC: Quick in and out unless he's stopped.

"Goodbye," Spy Shot says, waving after Dinobot. "Come home with your shield."
See, he can use metaphors! And this is totally an appropriate situation for that metaphor. Dinobot even said that fixing the wiring would be a glorious battle! He's still working on sarcasm.
Dropping his hand, he settles down on the counter and stares at everyone in the med bay. He'd prefer to transform into his camera form, but it's honestly more effort than it's worth at this point. "Hello."

"Forgive me Slider, but I must see to Skyfire's main power for a moment," Perceptor explains to Slider as he heads over to Skyfire's side. "I will see to patching your armor and repairing your shoulder as soon as I am confident that Skyfire will not trip and jar loose the splice."
Because that has totally happened to other Autobots before. Tracks wasn't even walking at the time! And it isn't that Perceptor doesn't trust your splicing technique, Skyfire; he just frets. It's something he's learned to do and gotten quite good at in the years since arriving in this reality.
Worry keeps Perceptor occupied and prevents him from sighing with exasperation at Whirligig when the other 'Bot replies that he doesn't even know whom he will be "chatting" with. He is, however, beginning to understand part of Xaaron's frustration with him: bored Autobots can be dangerous.
"Open, please." Before he gets much more than that out, there's a saurian stalking into his medical bay with a tiny little camera. Perceptor casts the pair a look of profound relief.
"Spy Shot! Where have you been?" He's been worried about the tiny mech. "Thank you Dinobot!" he calls as said noteworthy leaves.

Skyfire looks relieved at Whirligig's reassurance, though there really wasn't much he could do about being offline at the time. He turns his head slightly.
"That I did, Breakaway. I went out back to stop the sabotage on the ship's engines, and almost had chased Fleetwind off when Starscream showed up. Things got a bit hot after that."
Skyfire turns back to Perceptor; he doesn't actually know which of the people who rescued him from space patched him up enough to walk. "Of course," he replied, unlatching his torso access panels, allowing the folded down cockpit to slide up and unhinge. It's a bit of a mess, but not as big a one--the damage is unluckily precise, slicing past harmless sensor arrays to neatly pierce the main power lead, which has been hurriedly spliced with a quick field repair.
It's exactly like the damage Starscream used to inflict on Skyfire whenever they battled on Earth.

"It's alright," Slider reinitialized his control subroutines enough to prop himself up and stay in the conversation. It also let him get a good long look at Dinobot.
It was true that the Maximals made him a bit uncomfortable. Organic systems... Pulsing and rippling with wet or semi solid substances... It sounded like a one way ticket to squick. Luckily the database had prepared him a little, but he still had some trouble defragging when Cheetor was in the room. Someday he'd have to get over it, but for now he watched Perceptor work, caught up in morbid fascination with the body work he couldn't watch when it was being performed on him.

"Whirligig, you- you're . . . on your personal frequency? But you don't know. . . ?" Breakaway's eyes work their way through various confused expressions before he finally laughs. "If your crank call turns out to have a Decepticon on the other end, be extra-rude to them for me."
The jetformer is silent for a while, lost in his own thoughts, though he raises an arm to wave at Dinobot and Spy Shot as they come in. "Yeah, Skyfire, speaking of things getting hot . . . am I the only one who thinks it's weird that no-one died? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we haven't lost any friends! But now that we've found Spy Shot, we don't have any casualties or MIAs, and no-one's said anything about recovering any Decepticon shells. It's bizarre."
Breakaway was really looking forward to painting marks for Duskwing and Misfire onto his nosecone.

Jiggling his fingers a little, Whirligig manages to get his hand to unlock and drop back to the berth. Haha, take that, body!
Whirligig is highly amused by the Maximals, personally. The future of the Transformers is as a race of really short people! He's positively average by their standards. The Micromasters are similarly entertaining. And speaking of shorties... He doesn't even want to know how angry he'd have been in his youth if he'd come online Spy Shot's size! Whirligig has seen some tiny Transformers in his time, but wow, that camera is one of the smallest.
Winking at Breakaway, he says, "You can't count on it, scrappy! That's my specialty!" Among many other specialties he'd no doubt claim to.
He strums his fingers against his berth as Breakaway talks about their grand luck with the whole not-dying thing. "Sometimes people die, sometimes they don't. Bound to happen sometime that all the not-dying times will line up! Or maybe my awesomeness is just contagious."
Because the universe totally has his back and he has become immune to death. His ever-present smile slips for a moment. If only he'd been able to pass on that immunity before... No. No, sometimes people die for a reason. Sometimes it's the way things should be. Giving the slightest reaffirming nod to himself, he remembers the good old times and smiles.
Sometimes death is perfect.

"I was sleeping," Spy Shot says. Getting down from the dark ceiling space and out of dim hallways while his repair systems were trying to ramp up to maximum had almost completely drained his energy stores.
He's still tired enough that he stays sitting in place instead of going jogging about, despite the draw of getting a look inside of Skyfire's chest. Transformers are interesting on the inside! You can see some of the more inside parts of Transformers from his universe, but not the really internal parts. But the best he can do at the moment is lean from side to side and try to get a look around Perceptor.
