"I AM NOT THE MAFIA!" Mayday squeals, finally recovering from his shock at the accusation.
He's awfully defensive. However, this is Mayday. When is he not defensive and nervous? It's difficult to say if it means anything. But mafia or not, he is now worried that are going to try to lynch him, upping his nervousness another notch. One of his optics twitches, and he grinds a knuckle against his faceguard, over his mouth.
It's just a game! He shouldn't be taking it so seriously!
"Are you the Mafia?!" he accuses Nightbeat, voice a-tremble.

OOC: Still skippable, but given that it has been a long while, and this is pretty stalled...
Kup announces, "Heads down, everyone. Day 0 is over."
If he is surprised by who, if anyone, drew the mafia card, Kup shows no hint. He then narrates, "Heads back up. Day 1 starts with a grisly discovery - Prowl has been taken out by the mafia, with a Tommy gun! Poor sod - you just stay quiet for now. You can chime back in at the end. Around Prowl, you find a staff, a crystal ball, and a bag of pixie dust. Seems Prowl was a wizard! But he was a townie wizard, one of the good guys."
Why couldn't Prowl draw the ninja card? That would have made more sense.
"Clipper, Farlane, Nightbeat, Rodimus Prime, and Mayday are still alive and in the game. You need three votes for a lynch."

“Towns have wizards?” Well, it wouldn’t be the strangest thing Farlane’s seen in a town. “Wait, does this mean we just lost our pixie-dust supply?” That would be... incredibly sad. A town without pixie-dust would be the world’s most saddest ever town.
Well, anyhow.
“Eeesh, this is tricky, innit?” Farlane asks as he glances around and rubbing his helm.

"Wizards!?" Clipper exclaims. Okay, now it's even harder for her to take it seriously. One, well... wizards. And two, Prowl is sitting right there. He can't talk, but...
"Well, obviously Prowl wasn't Mafia?" she says weakly. "Well, I know that I'm not Mafia, but I guess no one has to believe me, huh. So... what now? We..."
"We have to try and figure out who to, um... you know. Get rid of." She looks around, clearly uncomfortable.

"No, I-"
Heads down.
"No, I'm not the mafia. Not that I'd tell you if I was." The obvious thing to do here is to lynch Farlane or Rodimus Prime, unless Clipper or Mayday are better liars than they seem to be. However, Nightbeat firmly believes in not taking innocent lives, and the suggestion to lynch someone makes him look like the mafia. Which he might be, for all anyone knows.
"We don't have to lynch anyone," he says aloud. "We do that we have a four out of five chance of killing the wrong 'bot. Unless there's more than one mafia," he says, turning his front wheels toward Kup.

Rodimus rubs his chin as he considers Nightbeat's proposal. "Yeah, you're right about that," Rodimus agrees. "Of course, if we don't lynch anyone, we're pretty much guaranteeing that the mafia... of mafias, even... wait, the plural of mafia is just mafia, isn't it?" Then he shakes his head. "Never mind. The point is, if we don't lynch anyone, we're guaranteeing that one of us is getting killed tonight, anyway. On the other hand, if we lynch someone and it's the wrong person, come nightfall we'll be down two people instead of just one, and the mafia will be that much closer to winning."

"Ah!" Mayday squeaks as Kup announces Prowl's untimely demise.
"Ah!" he squeaks louder, optics widening as they talk about figuring out who to lynch.
"AH!" he adds finally, clutching the sides of his head, at the realization that if they don't lynch the right person today then someone else is going to be horribly murdered and next time it might be him!
"I believe that Clipper isn't the Mafia!" he manages, sounding rather panicky. Which leaves him to glare suspiciously at Rodimus and Nightbeat. He tries to glare at Farlane, too, but just ends up staring bashfully at his feet. Is Farlane sure he's not a wizard?

Awww, Mayday.
Farlane should probably stop being distracted by the adorableness for a moment. Yeah.
“Pretty sure Clipper ain’t the Mafia, no,” he chuckles. He’s also pretty sure Mayday isn’t the Mafia, so that left the other two fellows. “But yeah, we do gotta lynch someone if we don’t want a second guy getting a time out. ‘Least, I think so, unless the Mafia can, like, not kill someone or somethin’.” The pink car pauses, trying to remember the rules. He didn’t really listen to them very well, admittedly.
“Euh. Right,” Farlane says after a moment. At least he's pretty sure who the Mafia might be, but the problem would be, well, lynching. He glances between Rodimus and Nightbeat. "Guess it's between us three 'n, huh?"

"But, if the Mafia could not kill someone," Clipper says, "then why wouldn't they have done that the first night and kept from raising suspicion? Besides, the Mafia doesn't really have any reason not to kill someone on the next night, because that puts them closer to winning."
Clipper frowns, worrying her lower lip in an unintentionally adorable fashion as he thinks about everything. "But Rodimus is right. If we choose wrong, then we'll lose two of us. If we choose right, though..."
Her gaze flicks to each of them in turn, a very unchildlike expression fixed upon her features as she considers them. She lingers upon Nightbeat, Rodimus, and Farlane the longest. Nightbeat is a detective for real, which means that he would have the best chance of figuring out who the real Mafia person(s) is. But if he is the Mafia, it also means that he'd know best who to take out to keep everyone confused. Rodimus is a natural leader, which means that he should be good at judging a person's motivations and compensating for them. That also means that he, too, would be good at sowing chaos. Farlane... is perfectly capable of cultivating an air of harmlessness.
But this whole exercise is about Mayday, and about teaching them how to root out a traitor in their midst. They drew cards to get their roles, but Kup... is a wily old buzzard, and Clipper is thoroughly convinced that he is more than capable of stacking the deck to make sure that Mayday ended up being that traitor, simply to mess with him.
She could suggest lynching herself, though. The first one to jump on that suggestion would most likely be the mafia. Risky, though, because it would only take one more vote, and, worse, if the other three don't understand her reasoning, would waste the chance to lynch the real Mafia.
Assuming they fell for it.
Also assuming that Kup isn't playing the Mafia, just to be a jerk. She flicks a suspicious look at Kup, weighing him with all the seriousness she would weigh a funding proposal back on Micro before passing it off to Governor Raikaru.
Voting for herself is too obvious. No one would be that stupid.
"Are you a valid choice, Kup? Because, if we can lynch you, I vote for you. If not, I vote for Rodimus."

"I say we don't lynch anyone. Everyone here is innocent until proven guilty and we don't want innocent oil on our hands." Even if it's just a game, Nightbeat is taking it seriously.
"Clipper's a bright ki- bright young lady. I've got no reason to believe she doesn't have the acting ability to be the mafia and not give herself away. It's not just between the three of us, Farlane."
The detective starts and looks from Clipper to Kup. Or rather, his breaks grind and his invisible car sensors change focus from Clipper to Kup. "Kup's not playing, he's just gamemastering, isn't he?"

"Except that if we don't lynch someone, we've still got innocent oil on our hands - whoever he kills tonight," protests Rodimus "Request Denied" Prime. "The only way we've really got to 'prove' someone guilty in this is by lynching someone and getting it right, or if he, she, or they kill all of us, and then they win." He shakes his head. "I don't think we should give the Mafia any more of a head start."
"I'm with Clipper - well, for the first part, anyway," he grins. "I'm not that clear that we Kup really isn't Mafia, and it's the sort of stunt he'd pull, so if he can be lynched, that's what I vote. If not..." he turns towards Nightbeat.
"I think you're trying to protect yourself, Nightbeat. You were the first to throw out an accusation, and now you're voting that we set ourselves back another night?" He shakes his head faintly. "Nuh-uh. I vote we lynch Nightbeat."

"Clipper is not the Mafia!" Mayday chastises Nightbeat, still rather shrill. "And if Kup is valid, I vote for Kup!"
He directs a rather pathetic glare at Kup. He totally deserves a fake lynching for putting them through this! Horrible, cruel, bad, naughty Kup. But if Kup isn't an option... Who can he possibly vote for? If he votes wrong, two innocent people die! And if he doesn't vote, one innocent dies! Same as if they don't reach a consensus! The pressure! The pressure!
"Uh, uh, uh-" There's no way he can puzzle this out! Even if he could think straight, he's not especially clever. Mysteries are not his strong suit. In that case, the only course left is to fall to peer pressure. And as he doesn't trust Rodimus or Nightbeat, there's only one option for him!
"I...I vote for Rodimus." He cringes following his announcement, as though expecting to be struck by lightning for making a bad choice.

Two votes for Roddy and Kup and one for Nightbeat. Farlane rubs his helm once more in mild confusion at it all and then shrugs, “I really don’t know ‘bout this.” The pink car isn’t the sort for mysteries either. He was hired to be a femme fatale in some weird low budget film in the genre once, but that’s hardly the skills needed for solving these kinds of puzzles.
If he voted, there was still Nightbeat’s vote to go and that was likely going to be for Rodimus too. Rodimus was sort of defending the lynching a bit more than anyone else and that was sort of suspicious. “Well, I guess I vote Roddy too,” he gives the Prime a slightly apologetic smile, “no offense, mate.”

Kup finally breaks in, solemnly, with, "All right then. You can't lynch the moderator. So you string up Rodimus Prime under a radio tower with an energon garrote. He kicks and puts up a struggle, but after a while, the struggling stops, and there's just this mad, pleading look in his optics. One fades out and then the other, and he goes real still."
"Then a Tommy gun drops out of his subspace pocket."
Kup smirks, clearly having enjoyed ribbing his pupil. Kup is an absolute terror at a campfire. Never hand Kup the flashlight.
"Rodimus Prime was the Mafia. The Town has won... this time. See, Mayday? The Town kept a cool head and looked at the facts - at who was really pushing for a lynch."

One by one, another vote for Roddy is cast. Would they have voted for him if she hadn't started the vote like she had? She feels more than a little responsible, especially when Kup breaks in.
Clipper looks a little... squeamish... at Kup's too-descriptive narration of Rodimus Prime's death. The fact that her decision process is, ultimately, validated, doesn't make that any better, really.
She's frowning to herself, watching everyone from narrowed optics, as she considers one important thing: what if this had been for real, and not a game?
