"The Town wins. Hmph! Mob justice!" Nightbeat says angrily, flashing his headlights and revving his engine. "We executed someone on a hunch. What if he'd been innocent? I was about to come out and disagree with Rodimus, and say we do have a way to prove someone is guilty. I was the cop, I could investigate someone every day. First day I did Mayday. No offense, but you were acting suspicious. And yes, I realize putting myself out like that would have made me the next one to be lynched, but it also could have thrown the Mafia off, made him slip. We got lucky this time," he says, before once again resuming his brooding noir silence. A bit of smoke rises from his exhaust pipe.

Rodimus, however, beams.
"Great job, guys!" he exclaims, clapping his hands together, clearly not bothered at all with having lost. "And yeah, Nightbeat, if you had come out with that, you'd have been gone 'tonight,' but that would have protected Clipper!"
He looks down at Clipper with bright eyes. "No offense, but you practically exude innocence a little too much. I needed to keep as many shady types alive as I could. Truth be told, I should have gone for you first, since Prowl's pretty suspicious, too." He shrugs and bounces back on his heels. "Ah, well! Can't win 'em all!"

Mayday is just going to gibber in confusion for awhile. He's had too many emotions to feel in too little time! Anxiety and preemptive guilt during Kup's unnecessarily graphic description of Rodimus's lynching. Shock and relief when it turned out they'd made the right choice. Then confusion more guilt at Nightbeat's chastisement - but what if they'd been wroooong? - and a bit of affront at Nightbeat suspecting him, to. And then Rodimus goes and praises them- Augh, Mayday doesn't want to have emotional processors anymore!
Finally, he decides to pout frown at Nightbeat and say defensively, "See? We saved Clipper! Or you. Or something. Or..." Time to mutter incomprehensibly.

“Ouch, old timer,” Farlane says with a mock flinch and a grin. “That was real mean a’ ya.” The pink car says with some admiration of course.
“I was suspectin’ either Nightbeat or Roddy since both a’ ya were a bit over actin’ a bit, but Roddy was defendin’ the lynchin’ a too obviously. Guess it backfired a bit.” He sets his tail skirts against the floor and leans on them, idly crossing his legs before glancing over the Mayday.
“Chill, boy,” he smiles broadly, “Nightbeat’s right that mob justice ain’t the way to do things. Guess that means we’re arrested, huh, officer? There gonna be pat downs?” He gives Nightbeat a very suggestive wink.

Kup concludes that these Autobots take party games way too seriously. Sheesh! Remind him never to play Monopoly with them. They'll start railing about the inherent evil of the capitalist state and start a workers' revolution. Then they will all go directly to jail and not collect 200 energon credits.
Kup gives Nightbeat a bit of an odd look. That's big talk from the detective known for playing fast and loose with the rules. Then he snicker-snorts. "You were the cop? I gotta start shuffling better!"
Mayday appears to be having a small breakdown. Kup lets him have his time. There'll be time two days for now for chasing Mayday through an obstacle course and making him drive through huge pipes.
"And Farlane? You ain't seen mean yet." Kup gives Farlane a very crooked grin.

Hey, it was supposed to be a game to teach a serious lesson, wasn't it?? So if they don 't take it seriously enough, then they're in trouble for THAT!
"So... umm.... now what? Another round?" Clipper asks.

If a car can glower, Nightbeat glowers at Farlane. "Not for all the gold on a hundred Emirates, dollface." Even if Transformers don't value gold for the same reasons humans do, it's still a good conductor. Plus, it's good for making politicians out of, apparently.
"What's wrong with me being the cop? I'm a detective, it's only natural. What was everyone else, by the way?" he asks, curious. And just because Nightbeat plays fast and loose with the rules, Kup, doesn't mean he doesn't have his own principles. He has several principles that he never deviates from if he can help it, including never accepting drinks from strange dames, and never lynching someone without evidence.
"Nah, no more rounds. This game isn't that great unless there are more people playing. It takes a dozen or so for a really good game of Mafia."

Rodimus chuckles. "And here I was worried that voting not to lynch someone would look too suspicious, since that would've given me another night to strike all the same." He considers and tilts his head. "Though knowing that Nightbeat is the cop means my timeline would've been a lot shorter, anyway. First instinct was to go after him first, until I realized that would leave too few other 'suspicious characters.'"
He looks around at the group. "I agree with Nightbeat, though. It was fun, but I kind of think we at least need enough people that there's more than one 'mafia.' It's not really organized crime if there's only one criminal. Unless the criminal's got a heck of a stick up his exhaust."

Mayday stares at Clipper in horror. "Nooo, not again!"
Well, at least the others seem to agree with him on that front. He sags slightly in relief. But only slightly. Because Kup is saying that Farlane hasn't seen mean yet and he's stuck with the old 'Bot every other day for who knows how long. Well, worrying about that's going to keep him up on more than a few off-shifts when he should be recharging.
"Sooo... can I go now?" he squeaks.

Oho, he does not doubt Kup's ability to do terrible, terrible things. Not at all. And he'd really rather not invoke it. Flirt with it, maybe, but not invoke it.
“Jus’ gonna let a diiirty crim run free then?” he directs at the good detective. Really, the only dirty thing here was Farlane’s tone of voice.
“I was the doctor!” Farlane grins brightly. “I was goin’ back and forth between savin’ either Clipper or Nightbeat this round but then we started chattin’ ‘bout lynchin’ and wull.” He shrugs his doorwings. “Got the Prime n’ that was that, I guess.”
“Yeah, this is the sorta game you need a bigger t’ properly play, really,” the pink car laments, crossing his arms. “Otherwise you get somethin’ like this where the lonely lil’ Mafia boy gets lynched by an angry mob jus’ after one round.”
"Aww, what's the rush, darlin'?" he pouts at Mayday. "We can still hang a bit n' chat?"

"Nah, not another round, Clipper. Yer all free to go now," Kup says, waving a hand absently.
He groans over Rodimus Prime's bad 'organised crime' joke. Kup asks, "Can you just imagine the kind of snit Sentinel'd get into if he drew the mafia card?" They need a G1ish Prowl, so they can have a different measuring stick for uptight.
Kup stands up and stretches himself a bit before waving, "See y'all around. Good thinking. If any of you end up in cement shoes, I'll know where to go looking." He shoots a stern look at Rodimus Prime and then starts to amble off.
OOC: Out of thread unless stopped.
