There's just something about Hardwire's revelation about the damage to his radio that seems somewhat amiss to Perceptor. Or, perhaps it's merely misplaced jealousy. In either case, Xaaron and/or Kup should be able to set Perceptor's concerns to rest. Or confirm them. // Xaaron? Kup? Do you have a moment? // he transmits to both at once, an unfamiliar note of hesitation and uncertainty in his tone. // I... have developed some concerns regarding the repairs Hardwire sought for his damaged radio that I feel it prudent to share with you both. // Xaaron has quite openly already had his concerns about Perceptor, and the scientist's irrational thoughts about Hardwire aren't likely to win him any favors from the Emirate... However, Perceptor just cannot seem to shake that niggling little doubt. Ah well. Better to risk further censure - not that he's any more concerned here on Gillanan III about his popularity than he had been back on either Earth or Cybertron - than risk his thoughts having some basis in fact and having gone unreported.

Kup can't help himself. He grins. It's not a pleasant grin. It's the grin of a mechanoid who's had some nasty suspicions... and suspects he's likely to get them confirmed in the very near future.
He puts the grin away quickly, however, as Wedge is sitting right there, and the kid had seemed unnerved enough as it was.
//Y'know, funny thing you should ask about him, Perceptor. See, I had just finished up my talk with Nightbeat before the detective ran off to deal with that Junkion and... seems he has some concerns about the guy, too. You might want to add him in on this call, see what he thinks. If you haven't caught his frequency, it's...// and Kup passes it on.
OOC: You might want to edit your first post so that the thread name is changed to include Nightbeat. Might grab his attention better that way.

That... both is, and is not, a comforting response. Granted, it decreases the likelihood of his observations being merely an irrational response, however it bodes ill for the Autobots if Kup's concerns parallel Perceptor's. The Kup he knew may have been a suspicious old mech, but he was also experienced, and not prone to jumping at shadows.
Perceptor repeats his transmission to Nightbeat, adding him in to the conversation.
// Hardwire's radio sustained damages consistant with having been exposed to a photonic blast, // he explains, his tone more confident. // However, the damages to surrounding components, including additional components of the radio and housing, indicate that the weapon was not significantly powerful. I would not have considered this a cause for concern, however... Hardwire stated that it was Starscream whose weapon caused that damage. //
He pauses for a moment before adding, // As Kup can attest to, Starscream is fully capable of much more severe damage from his normal weaponry than fusing the circuits responsible for radio transmission and reception, and the localized memorybanks where the lexicon of transmission frequencies are stored. //

Well, Nightbeat may be a little busy with Screwdriver, but he's nothing if not capable of keeping multiple thought tracks going.
//That ain't the only thing wrong with him.//

Emirate Xaaron is a little preoccupied with the fact that a Mirage who needs a bit of sweet-talking has appeared and also that a strange lady just menaced all of them with a yo-yo.
Oh, he's holding a dragonette, too.
Still, this is a matter that bears some contemplation. The Starscream that Emirate Xaaron knows needs little reason to kill. He's feeling blue and depressed about himself? Time to kill someone. Feasted on the Underbase? Time to kill someone. Wait, it's an actual battle? Still time to kill someone. Emirate Xaaron does not know if this Starscream is his Starscream. Thankfully, he didn't get in close enough to see. Even if he isn't, there ought to be similarities. Emirate Xaaron notes, //It's possible that Starscream was running low on fuel. Arcee was out there with Hardwire, wasn't she? Do her injuries correspond to the same low level as Hardwire's do? If they don't, then Starscream had to be intentionally lowering his power level, which is quite peculiar, particularly that he would specifically take out a radio.//

Perceptor spares a micro to cross-reference his memorybanks before replying to Xaaron.
// Arcee's injuries were similar in that they displayed the matching photonic discharge patterns, however her injuries were of slightly increased severity, indicating a higher output setting. Not... significantly increased, however, a noticable one. // Well, noticable to Perceptor, at any rate.
// That is correct, Nightbeat, // he adds after another swift cosultation with his memorybanks.

//So Starscream went easy on him and took out his radio. That would seem to indicate that Starscream wanted Hardwire alive but unable to communicate long-range. That's very queer. Odder still that he has a match for Constructicon green on him. Not even Springer sports quite that shade. Perceptor, those designs on him, is the style more Decepticon or Autobot, can you judge?//

//What I wanna know is, even if his radio was damaged... how come we didn't hear from him before that happened? Only the little orange guy didn't pop up at some point, and he's this side of delusional enough not to know he had it!//

//Good question, though there might be a real reason for not wanting to use the radio right off.// After all, Kup had certainly been in a paranoid enough mindset when he first arrived to avoid it. It's pretty bad when an Autobot is more worried about Blaster picking up their transmission than Soundwave, but there it is.
//I'm just wrapping up with Wedge here. Sounds like we got enough to justify me, erm, requiring his interview next.//

There's a beat of a pause from Perceptor before he chimes back in with, // They are, indeed, technical plans. Schematics, in fact. Of... a bridge. No specific style attributed to the schematics, but the designs are unmistakably... technical plans for a bridge. How odd. //

Emirate Xaaron decides, //Perceptor, keep Hardwire with you but try not to set him off. If he's on the level and this is all some odd set of coincidences, he has nothing to fear.//
If he isn't on the level? That goes without saying.
