Oh wow, an outmoded aircraft from some backwater primitive planet, painted in a garish colour scheme! It is the deadliest thing in the skies.
Of course as deadly as Starscream is, having backup in the form of an air fleet from two factions is fantastic.
Their destination? Autobase. Their ETA? Soon.
Starscream was ecstatic. The defeat of the Autobots. The defeat of a Prime. Through his plans. His scheming.
"Do NOT engage with the enemy until the command!" He orders. And of course he shouts it despite the fact that they're in the air travelling noisily at great speeds, because that's what Decepticons from the cartoon do. "Hellbender is to be the initial strike. We let them detect us and guard their walls, and he strikes from within. Do you understand?"

Fleetwind isn't outmoded! He's futuristic! Or something.
The Seeker flies in formation in his proper pyramid form, not particularly far ahead nor behind, and does nothing to stand out. Well, besides being pastel yellow in a force of mostly blue fliers.
"I understand and will obey," he replies, voice calm despite his concerns over the coming battle.

"BOO-YAH! Hey boss, whaddya want us to shoot first?" yelled Duskwing, since they do that in the comics, too.
The dark blue and purple F-15 flew in formation with Fleetwind, for the moment. He drifted back and forth, depending on who was flying alongside him, too impatient to hold to his proper place.

"Yes, sir!" Starfighter called in response, perhaps a bit louder than usual. He'd done a good bit of pre-battle mental preparation, because he'd like this to go better than last time and not have someone calling him a coward again. Because not. Well, mostly not.
Although he still keeps his mouth shut about Duskwing's wobbling motions and simply shifts out of his way every time he swings too close.

If Starscream was looking for an indication that the Autobots have detected his assault force, he now has it. While still far in the distance, those looking closely at the... parking garage the Autobots have converted can see something on top of it beginning to move, to turn.
Oh, look. Someone's gone and installed anti-aircraft defenses on a parking garage!

Slingshot can only loosely be said to be flying in formation with the Decepticon jets. Rather, he is flying in formation with Skyblast, and if Skyblast happens to want to fly with the Decepticon jets, then Slingshot will follow him.
He flashes his running lights in acknowledgment of Starscream's orders.
Hm. They've been spotted.

Skyblast wants to keep himself and his dear Harrier the slag away from Skyfire. If it means flying in the vicinity of Decepticon jets, Skyblast will deal with it. If Duskwing wants to be awkward about things, Skyblast has his patented I Am An Art Snob, And I Am Ignoring You abilities that he can engage.
Of course, Skyblast's mind keeps drifting off to wondering what Fleetwind would look like on fire.
Skyblast asks over the radio, because he is from the movie, //Acknowledged. Evasive manoeuvres?//
Even if Starscream says, 'No, I want you to sit there and get shot,' the Valkyrie undertakes evasive manoeuvres, anyway.

"This is it, we knew they were prepared for us." Starscream orders as he spots the anti-aircraft artillery. "Duskwing, your answer is down there. Everyone, break formation! Take that out, and keep your sensors sharp, that can't be all they have in store for us! Skyblast and Slingshot, your alternate selves could be nearby. They're yours if you want them, but after this is destroyed."
Starscream, ever-confidant in his abilities, begins a sharp dive, picking up speed. He's planning on getting beneath the artillery's range as quickly as possible. Which, for Starscream, is pretty fast.

Needlenose is also among the attacking Decepticon jets. Just because he's on a non-combining special team doesn't mean he doesn't also have to pull his weight during battle! And besides, he enjoys it. The prospect of ending Autobot life thrills the Double Targetmaster, and he's got a nasty new surprise for some of them! Only a few days ago he had Hook do a... special operation on him.
Ladies and gentlemen, Needlenose has anti-gravs! Now when cruising the airwaves, looking cool, looking bad, he can transform to make use of his Nebulans without worrying about being dropped from the sky!
"You got it, Starscream!" he shouts, diving in an entirely different direction. His proton missiles are intended for air to air combat, but that won't stop him from trying to use them on those weapons mounts, if he can get close enough.

Fleetwind would be... entirely unhappy if he knew someone in this battle was busy fantasizing about him suddenly becoming a flamer. He doesn't know this, however, so all there is to do is to follow Starscream's orders.
When Starscream calls for a break in formation, he starts gaining altitude to make a highspeed pass over the city before circling back from another direction. He realizes the allied Autobots already have an 'eye in the sky,' however, he always likes to get a good look at things himself. And besides, it takes him away from the bulk of the other targets.

Duskwing had no particular grudge against Slingshot-3 or Skyblast-3. That was a dogfight, and they were doing what he was doing and giving as good as they got.
It's Bumblebee-3 and Perceptor-3 that remain at the top of Duskwing's slag-list.
"You got it, boss!" Duskwing yelled back at Starscream. "Dem guys... uh, is gonna know dey got hit. Hard!"
Duskwing joined Starscream in the rapid dive, laser cannon blazing as he plunged madly toward the gun mount. As he closed, the dark blue jet rolled 90 degrees, presenting a slimmer, harder-to-hit profile to whoever was manning those guns. He never let up on the laser fire as he rolled. Dumb he might be, but he knew how to fly and shoot.
"EAT LASERS, AUTO-SCUM! AN' HERE'S SOME DESSERT WIT' DAT!"
Finally Duskwing launched a barrage of cluster bombs targetted at the anti-aircraft bombs. If he didn't shoot the gunner down, he'd blow up the gun.

Now this is actually comfortable territory for Starfighter--well, more comfortable, at least. The Autobot scraps around the Watchtower usually set up anti-aircraft guns when they decided to dig their heels in, knowing that Shockwave had a tendency to send in the jets.
"Whoo!" he says loudly but nervously as he dove towards the guns, targeting what looked like the more vulnerable areas. Yelling helped improve confidence. "Um, die Autobots!"

And so the onslaught begins, while the weapons emplacement on the building hasn't even fired off a single shot!
Boy, it would be terrible if that thing goes down without firing back, wouldn't it?
But that's not going to happen.
As Duskwing's first sprinkling of laser fire encroaches, the flickering lights of a force field activate, splattering energy as its impacted but still holding firm. Then the cluster bombs rock the area. While the gun mount’s shields keep it safe, the roof of the building, re-enforced by Constructibot building techniques, shows a lot of denting and scorching, and the force and vibrations set up shake up the gunner, himself.
The lime green and purple gunner.
Starfighter's laser shots meet much the same fate as Duskwing's, since any area that might look vulnerable when the shields are down quickly prove not to be with the shields up.
"Slaggin'- my building!" Long Haul shouts, angry and distressed. He activates the firing mechanisms which unleash a series of projectile-based blasts at the oncoming force, guided, fortunately, by an automated targeting system that outreaches the inexperienced Long Haul's own ability.

Shockwave chose to approach with the aerial group. Not as fast as the jets, Shockwave is not a part of the group, of course, behind and a bit lower in altitude. But he prefers to come in from the air, prefers a bird's eye view so as to get his bearings. So as to better plot his movements.
Hgn. Busy little Constructicon has been busy. Anti-aircraft and force fields. Likely reinforced the roof, too. But did he have time to reinforce or shield the whole building?
The Giant Purple Space Gun of Doom drops below the jets, firing a full power blast at one corner of the building about a third of the way down from the roof, pleased to see it is not so protected as above. He radios, because radio is so much more practical. //The guns are shielded. Take down the building, we take down the guns.//
He adds another note on the Decepticon channel only. //Hook, Mixmaster, your gestalt mate is playing gunner. If you're looking for him, that is.//

A gun mount opposite Long Haul's, one that seems to have been sitting inactive during the jets' approach, now lurches into motion and swivels to face the incoming aerial force, seemingly all on its own. Sharp sensors, however, will reveal on closer inspection the small blue and white bot at the controls. Comically outsized by the weapon he may be, but Holi is from Japanese continuity, where proportions gone mad are par for the course!
The Micromaster, jaw firmly set in a determined frown, takes aim on the first couple of divers and forces himself not to flinch as laser fire starts peppering the force fields. He doesn't flinch when the bombs hit, either, but the jolt rocks him right along with the gun emplacement. Once he settles again, he fixes his stare on the targeting display, waiting 'til he thinks he has a good bead.
"Here goes–!" He tightens his grip and opens fire on the nearest, lowest planes. Seconds later, the blast from that – that flying gun clips the building. Holi's targeting jinks down and to the left between volleys and he stops, looking aside, mouth dropping open in shock. Oh, that damage is going to make Long Haul so mad! Holi turns his gun mount again, this time locking sights on the big purple pistol before firing again.
