Rodimus Prime rolls up to the vehicle-mode obstacle course, then transforms. This would seem counter-intuitive, as it's not his alternate mode that he'd be expected to run the course in, but right now no one else is here. If he's going to wait, he'd like to be able to look around while doing it.
The Prime has a rather wide smile on his face as he scans the area. Really, it's so... pleasant here. Almost seductively so. They're not hiding - should they be? Can they expect a Decepticon attack due to their openness? But then, how do they hide Omega Supreme? If they're not hiding, should they be on the offensive, taking advantage of the quiet? But a simple watch of the training field shows that there are plenty here who aren't ready for that yet.
The smile fades at Prime's musings, and he shakes his head as he goes back to waiting. Let's hope they'll have the chance to get ready.

Skyblast bops over the alternate mode obstacle course. A jet showing up here seems rather daft. However, he's a mini-jet and extremely agile. The Valkyrie is about as long as a lot of cars. Skyblast is confident about his chances, even if he shouldn't be.
He bounces up and salutes, greeting, "Hello! Don't think I've met you yet, sir. I'm Skyblast."
Alternatively, someone killed Skyfire by stuffing him in a dryer.

And here comes Sideburn driving over at speeds that are probably not safe. However, he does transform (with the standard cry) and lands on his feet. He grins at Rodimus and Skyblast. "Hi there!"

Prime returns Skyblast's salute automatically and far more crisply than Hot Rod might have. Rodimus may prefer to be as personable as possible, but there is a certain kind of troop that is encouraged by seeing their commander deliver a proper military salute, and the youth has learned to keep these troops in mind as well.
"Hello, Skyblast. My name's Rodimus Prime." So far, Rodimus has found that even if he's dealing with a reality that has no Rodimus of their own, the name 'Prime' requires little in the way of explanation. "You're... going to fly the course?"
Then Sideburn arrives, and Rodimus greets him with a nod. He chuckles wryly, and notes, "Looks like I had best just focus on not wiping out."

He waves cheerily to Sideburn and greets, "Hello, there!"
Skyblast replies, "Pleased to meet you, sir. What, you don't think I can? There was this one mission out on Nuorgrednu, where it was tunnels all the way up. You think I let them clip my wings then?"
He seems to be pouting just a bit, but if pressed on the illogic of what he wishes to attempt, he'll flounce away.

Sideburn rubs his hands together. "So it's just the three of us for this course?" His grin threatens to split his face. Here's his sort of thing! And a chance to prove he can do more than play medic.

"No, I'm sure you can," protests the Prime, palms up. "It just occurs to me that you'd have the natural advantage, really." Still, he's grinning, implying that he doesn't mind.
Saying no more, he leaps forward, landing in alternate mode, and his engine revs loudly. "Remember - this is an obstacle course, not a straight race. Be ready for things to get in your way. Considering Kup designed it, be ready for a lot of things to get in your way. Mostly, though, just be ready. Set. Go!"
And with that, the Prime accelerates down the roadway. He speeds up quickly, but his top speed is much slower than the others, so they'll overtake him soon enough.
OOC: First obstacle, for any who wants to post passing him, is just a patch of slick road, right around the first corner.

Skyblast transforms, landing gear actually out. Sure, he could do the jump, transform, and full thrust for a carrier takeoff trick, but that isn't terribly sporting, and Rodimus Prime just pointing out that he does have the advantage of not actually touching the ground. Pit traps are pretty much meaningless to a jet.
The Valkyrie taxis up to takeoff speed and is almost in the air when he hits the slick patch. Oh, this could be bad! Will he pull out of the skid?
Find out next post.

Sideburn transforms when Rodimus does, and at the word, "Go!" his pedal is to the metal. He's accelerating at a pretty good rate, easily passing the Prime. However, this only gives him a few milliseconds of notice when Skyblast hits the slick patch. He tries to brake to slow his speed for it, but it's too late. The differential between front and back wheels is enough to cause him to start to fishtail dangerously and skid on the road. "Whoa!"
[OOC: Permission for either of the others to run into/clip him/whatever! Or they could totally miss him.[/i]

And here we see an actual advantage to being the relative slow-poke of the group: Rodimus gets to see - and here - the others reacting to the obstacles before he has to deal with them himself. Hmmm. Road slick. And here, Prime has another advantage over the others: mass. He's heavy enough that it takes a much slicker road, over all, to cause him to lose traction.
Of course, with those two careening wildly about the road, he's also got enough mass to seriously damage them. Not desirable. Before he hits the slick, the Prime swerves and jumps off the road entirely. Instead, he drives alongside it, passing the other two. Sure, it might be cheating, but hey, you don't win a battle by doing what's expected of you.
Once he passes the slick, Rodimus decides to keep off the road. If he can bypass all the traps this way, hey, so much the better, and given that he's built for the battlefield, he handles off-roading just fine.

Skyblast has the bright idea of putting on afterburner to try to power out of his skid. Unfortunately, Sideburn is fishtailing, and Skyblast clips into the blue car. The jet slips over and thumps into the slick surface of the course. His cockpit cracks slightly, but he's mostly okay. He's just now skidding on his back. How's he supposed to take off like this?
This is what he gets for now walking the runway and checking it for imperfections that might, well, cause thisto happen. He hollers, "Sorry!"

"Ack!" Sideburn cries out as Skyblast clips him, denting his front bumper and right wheelwell. He ends up skidding sideways off the road, onto the ground next to it.
"I'm okay!" he calls back to Skyblast. "You okay?" If Skyblast does need help, Sideburn will turn around and help. If not, the jet's on his own.
Sideburn gets traction once more on the ground and the dirt absorbs and removes the oil from his wheels. Unfortunately, Sideburn is not the 'Brother built with four-wheel-drive. The rocky ground is rough on his undercarriage and he only stays on it as long as he has to. As soon as he's past the slippery part, he gets back on the road proper.

Rodimus Prime stays off the road entirely, thinking, perhaps, to avoid all obstacles while running the course. Which may seem to defeat the point, but to Prime's mind the point is to get from the start to the finish.
Well, it's a nice idea, but apparently Kup had planned for just such thinking. Rodimus drives right into mud deep enough to bog him down, and here his mass weighs him down. "Hah!" Rodimus exclaims, happier than one would expect; for all that being stuck is a pain, he's pleased to see Kup had planned for this.
It takes a bit of back and forth rocking to shake himself loose, but Rodimus eventually pulls himself out of the mud and steers back onto the road. "Looks like I was too clever for my own good," he observes cheerfully as he drives on. Then, to both the others, he shouts, "Let me know if you guys need any help!"
OOC: Up ahead are a series of walls that will have to be swerved around, calling for very tight twists and turns.

Skyblast does not mind a good oiling, but getting oil all over him due to an obstacle does not constitute a good oiling. He cuts his engines and flicks his flaps, trying to rock himself over for a flip. Nope, he's flipped over for now, and he will be until he either transforms or something smack into him hard enough to flip him back over.
The artist grunts, "Cracked my cockpit, but that's nothing. Just can't get flipped over. Guess I'm out of the race, unless you think you can tip me back over without transforming." Teamwork to the rescue or a disaster in the making?

Sideburn hesitates... One part of him insists on continuing, that this is a race, and Skyblast doesn't need medical attention at the moment. The other part of him... These training exercises were meant to promote teamwork amongst those from different universes, right? And he was never one to leave a 'Bot behind... No way he's gonna start now. He's still fast enough that he'll catch up.
With a quiet grumble to himself, he turns around and drives back to Skyblast. "Where do you need me to push?" Nevermind that Rodimus likely would be a better choice for this.
