Day 22, Open thread. Event Horizon rock room.
Arcee is leaning back in her chair, one foot propped on the console, the other dangling free as she methodically breaks down her rifle, cleans, and reassembles it. She cuts her optics over at Rodimus, smirking a little at the bored look which has settled on the young Prime's features. Sure, they've been having some good- and entertaining- conversations, but Hot Rod never did deal well with sitting still for too long. It's no wonder Rodimus is the same.
Except he isn't the same, not really. She turns to give Rodimus a more open and appraising look as she snaps the last piece into place.
"So, I have to ask Roddy- did you tweak the watch schedule, or is Kup being not-subtle?"

Rodimus lifts his hands, palm facing forward. "This was not me. I can't speak for Kup one way or another, but it wasn't my idea!"
Then he realizes that he perhaps he sounds a bit too emphatic in his denial, and adds with a wide, quirky grin, "Not that I mind."
He shrugs and kicks his heels up on the terminal. "Been a lot better than some of my watches, anyway." He snorts. "I suppose I could weasel out of them, but with even Xaaron standing these things, that might look bad."

Bulkhead's optics flicker on and he lets out a long groan. "Awwwww, my head. What was in those oil-drums I was drinkin'?" After a few moments, he becomes aware that he is laying face-first on what appears to be a pile of rocks. Who put those in his quarters? "'Bee, have you been messing with...." Bullhead's thoughts slow to a crawl as he drags his vast green mass upright, looks around and sees a rocky plain all around him, "I ain't in Kansas any more. Or Detroit." He stands motionless for a minute or two, trying to think. Then he has a good idea... get attention! "HEY GUYS! WHERE ARE YA?! BEE? OPTIMUS? SARI?" Yup, that should work.

Arcee quirks a grin right back, optics softening a little. "I don't mind, either. I-"
Her chair hits the floor hard when Bulkhead starts shouting, her recently-reassembled rifle coming up as reflex. She lowers it before it's even fully aimed, as the names Bulkhead lists off should place him squarely in the "Not Decepticon" camp.
"Why is it always when you're not looking!" she hisses, before standing. Bulkhead should be able to see her clearly if he's looking around.
"Hi. Welcome to the Event Horizon. Wherever you were, you aren't gonna see it for awhile. Hope you kissed Toto goodbye."
Because yes, Arcee actually knows that reference.

Rodimus swings his feet to the floor and stands up. "Got a live one," he mutters at Bulkhead's shouting. The live ones, at least the Autobots, are a lot more pleasant than the dead ones. Rodimus leans forward over the terminal to peer down at Bulkhead. Bulkhead may or may not find the red and orange robot somewhat familiar, though this version's a height more commonly associated with Decepticons where Bulkhead is from!
He nods in agreement with Arcee. "Pretty much, yeah. My name's Rodimus Prime and this is Arcee. No, we didn't bring you here, we don't know what's bringing people here and... I'm afraid it'll only get more confusing here on out."

"Whoa!" Bulkhead lets out and startled exclamation as what looks like a teaching unit stands up out of nowhere and speaks. Why is she holding a gun? "Sorry, didn't see ya there. Or you buddy, hi!" He adds with an expansive wave as Rodimus also makes himself known. Bulkhead smiles as Arcee gets his reference. Wherever he is, at least they have good taste in movies! "But Ma'am, are you a good witch or a bad witch?" he says with a grin. As Rodimus introduces himself, Bulkhead's face gains an expression of alarm, he stands to attention and swings his hand up to clang against his head with enough force to leave a small dent. "A Prime? Sorry, Sir, didn't realise. Are there Elite Guard here? Hope I ain't in any trouble for the witch comment, just tryin' to be friendly with the Teacher. Who brought... What's happ..." as he speaks, Bulkhead realises that Rodimus has just answered the questions he is trying to articulate. "I don't like the sound of confusing, Sir, not my forté!" Bulkhead stays standing at attention, waiting for orders. A Prime is here, that's something at least.

Arcee grins at Bulkhead, "Depends on who you ask- and which end of the rifle barrel you're on."
She steps from around the console. Her rifle is still in her hand, but it's handing loosely at her side. Her expression sobers as she shakes her head.
"I'm not a Teacher. Though I guess right now I am in that position. Sort of, anyway. Something is snatching Transformers, Cybertronians- whichever you go by- from their home reality and depositing them in this one. We're trying to find a way home, fight a few bad guys, and make this reality a little better along the way. Rodimus can explain it better." Yeah, she just totally lobbed that ball into your court Roddy.
"Elite Guard?" Arcee smirks over at Rodimus, "Guess we have a good idea where he's from." Back to Bulkhead, "What's your name?"
Arcee makes a radio call on the Autobot broadband. Bulkhead will hear it, unless he's got his radio shut off for some reason.

"Well, that, and the mention of a Prime," Rodimus answers Arcee when she observes that they have a good idea where the newcomer is from. Then he lifts his hand and waves absently, "And, uhm... at ease," he adds like someone who is unused to dealing with formal military protocol. To an extent, he is - as the saying goes, an inspection-ready unit is rarely battle-ready, and a battle-ready unit is rarely inspection-ready, and Rodimus is used to dealing mostly with battle-ready units.
He frowns, considering just how he's supposed to 'explain it better'. Arcee had that pretty well covered! Oh, yeah. "We're not just being pulled from different realities, but also from different times or time periods, sometimes separated by millions of years. The thing is... nobody ever remembers any of us going missing, so you'll probably meet people who seem to be from your future, except... they won't remember you suddenly disappearing. Instead, they'll know what... what you would have done if you hadn't come here."
He gives a shrug, expression somewhat apologetic. He knows it's hard to follow, but there's nothing to be done about that.

Bulkhead frowns in concentration as the teacher who isn't a teacher, but is currently teaching explains the situation and the unfamiliar Prime tells him that people he might or might not know may or may not remember his future that he hasn't had yet.
His head hurts. A lot. Bulkhead slumps from attention to his usual posture as Rodimus give him the uneasy "At ease". Bulkhead is reminded of Optimus, this Prime doesn't seem to interested in military protocol. That's good, that isn't Bulkhead's forté either.
Then, finally, Arcee asks something he can answer. "The names Bulkhead, pleased to meet ya!" he says, relieved.
The radio message Arcee sends is indeed heard by Bulkhead, and takes him by surprise. Prowl is here? and Sentinel? They've gotta remember him. He is unforgettabable! Bulkhead isn't sure about these twins - he doesn't recall any twins that he has met. Yet. Or a bot called Glyph.
"So... ya need me to do anything?" Bulkhead asks, "I'm not entirely sure what's going on, and I'll admit I ain't much of a thinker, so not sure what help I can be."

Arcee smiles and says, "Well, that's probably the best anyone's taken the transition in a long while! As for what help you can be, that will be figured out after your security interview*." "First though, we have a few folks from a reality with an Elite Guard. Unless your radio is damaged- is it?- you probably heard me list some of them off just now." She looks at Rodimus, "Rodimus, you think Kup will want to catch him? Or should I go track down Sentinel or maybe Optimus?" *OOC: usually, the actual security interview is off-screened, because those of us who do it are very tired of doing them. This does not mean Bulkhead and another Animated player(s) couldn't do a catching up-style thread if you wanted.

Rodimus settles back down into his seat and kicks his feet up on the terminal. He doesn't point out that officially, he can do the security interviews because... really, after a certain point, they're kind of boring. But he does point out, "Springer can also do the security interviews." Because obviously the thing to do if Rodimus finds them dull is to make Springer do them instead. "But I think it might be best to get a familiar face in here to try and get him settled first, since we don't know when he or Kup will be able to talk to him."
Rodimus pauses a moment. Most of the 'standard warnings,' like 'Don't shoot Long Haul' and 'Don't shoot the Seeker' don't really apply to people from this reality, but on the other hand... "Oh! You should probably know that 'Prime' doesn't... quite mean the same thing to most people as it does in your reality. In most realities, it's more a singular title rather than a rank. Depending on the universe, it either refers to the leader of the Autobots or the person who carries an artifact called the 'Matrix', possibly both. 'Magnus' doesn't always mean the same thing, either. It's just part of a name. We actually have an Ultra Magnus here, but he's... just another soldier, at the moment."
Which is probably just the way he likes it, Rodimus reflects.

"Interview?" Bulkhead looks nervous. Interviews always seem to go wrong once his nerves get the better of him. "Should I polish up first? I wanna make a good impression!" Bulkhead hops nervously from foot to foot, the deckplates creaking beneath his feet. Bulkhead may seem to be taking the transition well, but its mostly due to a lack of comprehension rather than an excellent coping mechanism. "Never heard of a Matrix." he says when Rodimus explains that heirarchy situation. "Our top bot has the Magnus Hammer as his beatstick of office. So, you're a Prime, are you a my-style Prime, or a Top-Boss type Prime? Sir" he adds, just in case its the latter. Ultra Magnus is just a soldier? Wow, this place gets weirder and weirder. What's next? Do the Decepticons run Cybertron's energon treat business? OOC : Off-screen is fine by me for the often repeated bits. Let it ride

Optimus Prime arrives in the rock room as promised and takes in the scene. Bulkhead seems to be making a good impression on both the 'bots present and the floor, but that's par for the course for him.
"Hello Rodimus, sir, Arcee. Glad you could drop in, Bulkhead," he says, one side of his mouth tilting up in a tiny grin.
"Rodimus is a Top-Boss style Prime, but he's only second-in-command here. Our leader is Emirate Xaaron. And the Matrix is like the AllSpark, only it has to be carried in someone's chest." That's Optimus's understanding, anyway.

Arcee quirks an optic ridge up and gives Rodimus a little smirk. Yeah, she knows Roddy can do the interviews. She also knows he probably hates doing them by now. Handing it off to Springer, though is such a... Hot Rod thing to do.
So yes, Roddy, Arcee sees what you did there.
She covers her mouth with one hand to stifle a giggle at Bulkhead's nervous shifting. Optimus comes in and she waves at the not-a-bossbot-Prime. "Hey Optimus. Glad you were nearby. You want to take Bulkhead out for the quarter cube tour? You're good with standing up for him 'til he's properly vetted, right?"

Rodimus catches Arcee's smirk out of the corner of his field of vision, and puts on a faintly exagerated innocent expression in response. As Optimus comes in and explains Matrices and what sort of Prime that Rodimus is, the young Prime clears his throat, a somewhat staticy noise.
"If you want to get technical, I'm a 'artifact bearer' Prime. The top-bossness didn't go with it later when..." he hesitates, "when we lost the last of our civilian government."
